    Rifle Scopes Parallax adj knob malfunction? Leupold Mk6 3-18 TMR

    This may sound stupid, but does the knob have allen screws? If so, they may be loose, permitting the knob to turn, but only occationally turning the inner stem? Just checking.

    What bullet for 30-06 Long range work?

    I've noticed that everyone ignored the 175SMK. Has anyone tried them for long range '06? I have a nice old pre-64 Win in '06, and was wondering the same thing as the OP, and I happen to have a few thousand 175SMKs.

    Since 1983 I've bought 4 Vari-X2s, 2 VX-2s, 2 Vari-X3s, 2 VX-3s, and 1 2-7X rimfire. I love them all, and never a problem with any of them.

    Thanks for all your responses guys. Bryan, your explanation clears some things up for me. And if I can get within a click or two for first round hits, I will be one happy camper. That is what I call a handy, accurate shooting tool! Thanks for your work.

    Yes, the Iphone AE program uses multiple G1 plots. You are correct, I was asking which is generally more accurate. I'll have to wait until This Saturday to find out....unless I call in sick one day!

    The ballistic ap I'm using has the Litz listings, so I do have the correct Litz BC.

    I have compared them and the G1 shows my bullet will impact about 2.5" higher (@ 600yds.) than the G7 states. I'll be able to determine which is more accurate. I wish I could shoot it now, but the Bear's game and tornados in the area are kinda preventing that! Lol

    Next weekend I'm going to shoot at 600yds and 25yds, (Thanks George!) and report if G1 or G7 was closer. I understand that neither will be perfect, but being a 24/7 gun-geek guy my whole life, I need something to wrap my mind around when I'm not actually shooting! Can you say obsessed? Lol

    Thank you Woo. But if the G7 is better for boat tail bullets, why is it showing MORE drop (about 2.5" @ 600yds) than G1? Shouldnt it take into consideration the better ballistic profile, and show less drop? And yes, I used the Litz listing for the bullet, which shows .243 BC.

    Best "pre-bedded" stock for SA Rem 700?

    I'm looking to buy a new stock for my old stock Rem 700 222Rem. It has a factory, standard weight barrel. I like the idea of using a stock with the aluminum bedding block, or pillars, as I really would rather not bed the action. Can you suggest a decent one for this rifle for $300 or less...

    I just punched in my 308 Win data (175SMK @2600fps) into my Iphone Ballistic AE program and am viewing the results for G1 and G7. At 600 yds, the G7 is showing about 2.5" more drop and more wind drift than the G1 model. Which model would you believe, and tends to be more accurate? Eventually...

    Alliant 2000-MR

    So 47-48 grains under a 175SMK seems to be the magic weight in a Lapua case? Hmmmm, gotta give this stuff a try! My stock Rem 5R produces notably slower velocities than average, and I'm looking to be well over 2600fps. All these awesome velocities without any pressure signs?
