    Rifle Scopes Need opinion regarding nf velocity reticle

    I would like the "LV" version for the 308 using a 175SMK bullet, but the BDC lines correspond to something like 2000' ASL elevation. I guess that's one down side to BDC reticles.

    Agreed. I had Harrell's best measure. It is definately the finest measure out there, but didnt throw any more accurately as my RCBS with baffle and micro stem.

    I've noticed if I havent used powder from an eight pounder in awhile, it seems to weigh less per graduated throw. I assume some chemical in it has evaporated or something over the period of unuse. (Is that a word? Lol) I figured the eight one pounders lets you keep seven "fresh/unopened"...

    If you had a choice between getting your favorite rifle powder in eight one pound jugs (with the same lot #s), or one eight pound jug, which do you prefer? Or would it matter to you? Just wondering .....

    I have a Rem 5-R also, and although very accurate, all my loads seem much slower than other prople's using the same loads. Could the long freebore have something to do with this?

    Your powder may have dried some, since opened. Now it is lighter. I found this same thing when using powder from 8lb jugs that I don't use often.

    Very good point, and something a lot of guys don't consider. Atmospheric temp is not the only thing to consider.
