    Simply Outrageous -- 14.9mm Rifle

Dylanss180, are you doing all the machine work? I see you are an engineer, did you design the rifle? I can also see parts for a few rifles, do you plan to sell them? What king of software (or experience/intuition) did you use to design the bullet? What barrel are you using, rifling profile and...

    Rifle Scopes Mrad IS Meteric

Don't worry, is a weekly occurrence since at least 10 years now... :D

Range Report 69gr SMK what am I missing?

In this case, it obviously tracks the G1 curve very well :) I doubt you'll see less variation compared to the G7 curve. At least in this case it won't matter until you get close to the subsonic range.

    Simply Outrageous -- 14.9mm Rifle

Dylanss180, thanks for posting! :) If you can, please give us some more details on the sliding bipod assembly. Are you going to use some kind of recoil absorber for the butt? What bullets are you planning to use?

    Rifle Scopes mil or moa

The metric system is decimal, and only one unit of measure for distance is used, the meter. One milliradian is an angle which subtends an arc whose length is 1/1000th of the distance, so using meters and miliradians is VERY easy, fast and intuitive. One mil = 10 cm at 100 m, one click 1 cm at...

    Rifle Scopes Mrad IS Meteric

Of course you can use mils with yards and inches, it is just not optimal but still better than MOA/IPHY whatever. A have a few scopes with mil reticles and MOA clicks, and don't change them because I'm just and amateur and they work just fine. I'm an engineer, and also very proficient with US...

    Rifle Scopes Mrad IS Meteric

If the USA hurries up you can still beat Myanmar and Liberia so it won't be the last country in the world to "go metric"...

    300 Blackout Same as a 300 Whisper??

Perhaps this is true, but since the freebore in the "true" 300 whisper is actually longer than the 300 BLK, I doubt the leade angle makes that much of a difference. In any case, all future guns will probably use the 300 BLK since it is SAAMI adopted.

    300 Blackout Same as a 300 Whisper??

There are no SAAMI pressure specs for 300 whisper, only load data, so you cannot say wich is loaded hotter. If you look in the article you mentioned (the same I posted before) you'll see that velocities are the same for both 300 BLK and 300 whisper factory ammo, fired in guns with chambered for...

    300 Blackout Same as a 300 Whisper??

300 MLK is not really much (or any) hotter, check the chamber specs and shooting results mixing ammo here: http://www.americanrifleman.org/articles/shades-of-gray/?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_content=300Whisper-head&utm_campaign=300Whisper The thing is, this article shows the...

Range Report Do Bullets Go to Sleep?

Simply, the drag in the subsonic region is much smaller than in the supersonic range.

    Rifle Scopes 50mm vs 56mm

If you have an adjustable cheek rest, go for the 56 mm, perhaps the advantages are not great, but there are no disadvantages.

    XM408 Heading to JSOC/SOCOM...

I contacted the maker of a new portable laser wind meter that can measure wind real time downrange (probably the same unit used with this ballistic computer, or similar). IIRC, their estimated hit ratio was such that it did not allow a high percentage of first round hits on torso sized targets...

    Remington wins the PSR,

I think the same thing LCDR JGB has said applies in this case... very difficult to beat an established company with a good product and track record.

    Remington wins the PSR,

The MSR barrel in remington's site is SS, but the specs cited at Gearscout say Chromoly steel .338 barrel with 1:9.5 twist, 5R rifling and Melonite coating. Is this barrel cold hammer forged or ??? High grade chromoly, hammer forged, could improve barrel life. Or perhaps you need this kind of...

New US Military .300 Win Mag Match MK 248 MOD 1

Thanks Bryan, VERY interesting read... I've heard that the 220 SMK was chosen because its tangent nose profile it was less sensitive to throat erosion than the higher BC 210 SMK (that can also be pushed a bit faster). Is this true? Can a different throat be used to eliminate this with mild...

Accuracy International AIAW vs. Sako TRG-22 - My Experience with Both

Excellent review, thanks! I have limited experience on the AIAW and the TRG-22, but in my opinion you summed it up nicely.
