    I have to transport ammo in a locked container (NYC) so I ended up getting a Pelican 1200 and it fits an MTM R-100 medium rifle box with some room to spare on the side.

    Eberlestock x3 low drag vs team elk

    I have a Gunslinger 2 and the compression straps go all the way past the rifle sleeve to the frame of the pack. I haven't done any extensive hiking with mine yet, but it feels pretty secure if you tighten down on those compression straps.
