Seeking practical experience with 7 mm RUM

I have a 28 nosler, using 195 Berger's. I also have some Bertram 28 nosler brass. If I were to use the Bertram brass I would weight sort it and neck turn it. I measured case capacity, neck wall thickness, case weights between it and the Nosler and the Nosler was far more consistent. Enough so...

Tikka CTR -- anyone keep the original stock?

I too like the factory T3X stock enough not to replace it, plus the magazines are one of the best selling points for the CTR. I did relieve the barrel channel as it was touching but I also bought a varmint/beaver forend for it also. It did stiffen up the forend and it feels better in hand.

    Tikka CTR Mags with 6BR?

I had a few 6BRX cases laying around so I seated some 105's and loaded a Tikka CTR mag. With them loaded sitting forward in the mag they fed flawlessly. I don't have anymore than 5 dummy rounds so couldn't test with a full mag but has anyone had a play with this? If a spacer was put in the back...

Rifle Scopes Bushnell XRS II vs Razor Gen II 4.5-27

I have both, and I know the Razor gen2 is regarded highly here so I must have been unlucky to get two which suffer from CA. The XRSii does not show the CA near as bad as my Razor. The atacr F1 shows no CA. Taking out the CA glass quality you'd be hard pressed to pick them a part.

Rifle Scopes Exciting scopes coming from Bushnell the ERS & XRS Gen II

I spent a little more time comparing the Razor gen2, atacr F1, and the XRSII. The ultimate winner between them is the NF. But with the current prices are here in Oz I would buy two XRSii over a single NF everytime. The XRSii is a very good scope. The glass between it and the NF is very close...

Rifle Scopes Exciting scopes coming from Bushnell the ERS & XRS Gen II

I would suggest any guys in Oz reading this get into the deals that are available with the XRSii currently. Mine arrived today, illuminated version and it is the best money spent yet. Spent a little time comparing to other scopes including NF ATACR F1 5-25 and 4-16, Razor Gen2, and a MK6 3-18...

    Range Report 7mm 10twist projectiles

Will a 7mm such as a 280 remington stabilise 168 weight projectiles and below using a 10 twist barrel? Would like to the ability to shoot from 140 up to 168VLDs. Anyone have experience with a 10 twist 7mm? I hope to run the 162amax if I can find them, but need other options like the bergers if...

    Sauer 200STR Sig SSG3000 Q's

Thanks for all the replies. They seem like a no brainer for the money. Just ordered a mcmillan stock and will look at a 20moa near alpha mount. Now to find a 6.5x55 barrel :-)

Rifle Scopes Vortex Viper pst 2.5-10x32 vs Nightforce 2.5-10x24

Have to agree with the 32FFP model being the best in the PST range. I had the 2.5-10x44, 2 X 4-16x50, and looked through a 6-24. Not impressed with any except the 2.5-10x32FFP. Was much better than the others, and it actually impressed me!

Great, also how much room is there in the magazine? What is the maximum OAL that can be used?

Range Report Nosler Custom Competition for Hunting

Tried 155 and 190 Nosler Custom Competition. 155's out of 308, 190's out of a 300WM. Both were very poor on game. The 69 Nosler Custom Competition out of my 223 are explosive however. Recommend them!

    Sauer 200STR Sig SSG3000 Q's

Thanks for the info! Zero MOA rail sucks a little but everything else sounds great. Now are these actions as smooth and slick as they show on youtube?

    Sauer 200STR Sig SSG3000 Q's

I am interested in the SSG3000 rifle and understand barrels and parts are interchangeable with the 200STR. Is there anyone with one of these rifles that can answer these questions 1. Does the 6mmBR barrel have its own magazine or does it work with the 6.5x55/308 magazines? Could be single...

    Gunsmithing Defiance action trigger problem.

Thanks for reply. I thought the same, but removed the barrelled action from stock several times and tightened up. For some reason changing the pins fixed the problem. I really dont understand this one, but think I was just unlucky. The trigger went straight in, was not tight at all. Looks...

    Gunsmithing Defiance action trigger problem.

Hi I have a rifle built using a Defiance action. The rifle came with standard remington trigger and it works (most of time read below). I have tried fitting a Huber and a Rifle Basix trigger and neither will work. The firing pin will hold on when safety is on, but will drop once safety...

Rifle Scopes vortex 2.5-10x32 FFP or 4-16x50 FFP

I have both these scopes. The 4-16 on a Sako Quad and the 2.5-10x32 on a tikka hunter 7mm-08. I have not shot the 2.5-10x32 scope as it has just arrived. I do not know if it is my scope, but the 4-16 when over 12X it loses its picture quality. Up to 12X I think it is great, over not so much. The...

    New Vortex Razor Spotters

Mike and Chiller, you guys have experience with the new 50 and 65mm Razor spotters and are impressed then. Between the 50mm and 65mm anything you can share about each model? I would like to see a review on these spotters! Cheers
