    Just wanted to update this thread. Put a factory R700 trigger in the Vudoo, now it works perfectly. I'll be reaching out to Geissele about their trigger to see if they can modify the sear for me.

    Great information! Thank you! I think I'll put my old factory Remington trigger in and see if that takes care of it, and if so, look into taking care of the sear in the Geissele.

    The Geissele trigger came with directions for removing the bolt release if it wasn't needed. I removed it before install. I'm going to swap in an old factory R700 trigger (bolt release removed) and see if that changes anything for me.

    I went with a Vudoo myself. Reason: I shoot sone benchrest matches and wanted to be able to single load, and I had read the Vudoo action allowed that, while the Rimx didn't (unless you wanted the special single load action, which I didn't, as I also wanted to be able to feed from a magazine)...

    In my case, I went with a 22" JP barrel. I shoot 140gr ELDMs, with 41.6gr of H4350. At the end of the day though, your rifle may not like what my rifle likes...

    I've got a couple of the Holosun 515GM-GR dot sights that I've been happy with. Would buy another if needed. You should be able to find them for $350 or less. I've used Aimpoint as well, but not sure on their current pricing.

    Your low ES tells me that your loading process is consistent, but while very consistent, it doesn't sound like it's best for your barrel since your groups have opened. I have a 6.5 Creedmoor rifle, very accurate, but with a load I worked up (ES of less than 10fps) it just doesn't group well...

    To me, your barrel still looks fine. Plenty of life left in it. I've got barrels that look much worse and still shoot great. If you changed bullets and your groups opened up, then I'd be looking at your load again, not your barrel. That said, if you just want a new barrel, then by all means...

    I'd go 308, clone off what Canada uses and you already have other 308s, so ammo to share.

    I think the issue may have been him using a torque wrench. He claims to have tightened it to 18 inch pounds, but I think the torque wrench was either misadjusted (user error), or he tried 18 foot pounds (also user error).

    I offered a couple times the drill and tap the hole for a larger screw, he doesn't want that and wants will be buying a new receiver... it's his money, not mine.

    Nope, he doesn't know how to pull the barrel (I previously helped him install the Kidd barrel). He had removed it to "clean the bolt". I suggested he use a snake on the barrel and only pull the bolt if he was starting to have reliability issues.
