Match vs magnum primers for bench rest

This past weekend I finally had time to regroup on my 7.62x39 subsonic load development. Got a new Garmin C1 chrono to help. The process thus far is going extremely well with my main issue left is finding a powder that produced enough gas to lock back the bolt. Putting all that aside, I was...

    Subsonics - All Calibers

Nice! I'd be happy with the initial results. Now lets see half MOA please.

    Subsonics - All Calibers

I have shot the .308 220's out of my 7.62x39 with a 1-8 twist and had no stability issues., even at 200 yards and beyond. I think they were bullets from Everglades Ammo. Barrel length is 18" though.

Hornady SUBX 7.62x39 Barrel Twist Rate

FYI. The factory 255gr load does cycle my AR15 without a suppressor where as my H110 loads do not. Still need to figure out if its powder or gas block related.

    50 bmg loads - amax 750gr with wc860

Found this in my notes. Should get you started. Please remember that WC860 is best used for the lighter range of 50BMG projo's. Be careful! "Recommended start charges with either WC860 or IMR5010 with 647-650 grain bullets is 210 grains. 690-700 grain start at 205 and 750 grain start at 200...

    50 bmg loads - amax 750gr with wc860

As a point of reference, I load my 647gr API's with 220gr of WC860. An AMAX 750gr load should be less of a charge. Not sure by how much.

help with reloading data for eld-m in 6.5x55swede?

That data was only meant as a point of reference so yes use the starting loads and work up. I don't shoot the 140's myself but I am working up loads for 108, 129, 135 and 156 grain bullets. The is also a 6.5x55 Swede reloading section pinned at the top you should check out...

help with reloading data for eld-m in 6.5x55swede?

Recently got this from Berger. Should be good starting load data for the 140's: I have an 18" carbine barrel on my Swede so I mainly use IMR 4350 for the faster burn rate.

    .224 Valkyrie

Found about 550 old 75gr Amax bullets that I've had laying around forever. Going to run them through the Valkyrie to use them up. How might they compared to the Berger 80.5 Freebore in terms of accuracy?

    6.5x55

Forgot to add that I did shoot one round of a very hot load. Got the Lapua 108 Scenar rocking with 47.6gr of IMR 4350. This is too hot based on previous testing. Need to break them down and reload to a max of 47.2.

    6.5x55

Finally got a chance to test some loads albeit very limited. Chrono tested 3 loads with 3 different bullets. Slow speeds but to be expected with such a short barrel. Tested 3-shots with the 129gr ABLR , 135gr Atip and 156gr Berger. The Berger shot best at about 1.5 inches with one pulled for...

    .224 Valkyrie

This fucking summer/fall heat in AZ is why its always in the back of my mind that i'm shooting at or slightly over max charge of cfe223 in an AR15. 27.0 gr with the Berger 80gr Fullbore is just too good to reduce!

    AR 15 22LR Conversion Bolt

Update on this situation. CMMG confirmed through pictures that this unit is an early Alpha version. I asked if i could purchase a current generation extractor and extractor spring as extraction was not working at all. They said we would rather replace the unit with a new Bravo Kit (at no...

    50 BMG - RL50 and 750 Amax?

Totally agree. Who the fuck would want a 50 BMG rifle with that barrel length? The only chrono testing I did with my M82A1was with hand loaded, 650gr M33 Ball. With 250gr of RL-50, I got 2956 fps average over 3 shots. Did not want to do any further measurement and destroy my magnetospeed...

    50 BMG - RL50 and 750 Amax?

Here's my notes on RL-50 for the 750gr AMAX out of my Barrett M82A1: "Hit lands at 5.809, test at -30 thousands or 5.779. John's reloading book say 5.730 max length & 235gr max powder charge. Not sure for what specific gun. Need to test 230.0gr RL 50 with 750 Amax. Alliant says 239 gr out...

    AR 15 22LR Conversion Bolt

Yea looks like a CMMG carbon steel version based on some research. Just ordered one of their new 25 round mags to test it out. Not sure how old this bolt version is or if there have been improvements since.

    AR 15 22LR Conversion Bolt

Had someone give me this the other day. There is are manufacturer marks of any kind on it but seems well built and complete. Any idea who may have made it? Also what brand magazine might work with it? Thanks, AZ
