    CCI450 vs CCI #41

I have not seen any difference in point of impact between the two.

    AR10 in 22 Creedmoor?

From whom did he source the barrel? Can you keep us posted on his progress if he does not mind?

    M38/M96 6.5x55 project

Couple of questions for ya. Is this trigger still made? How is the eye relief on the Burris with the BadAce? I use this mount on an M43 Spanish Mauser and it ben solid.

Totally agree. 8mm offers nothing and with the surplus market pretty much dried up, hand loading is it. And for what ballistically speaking? M38 in 6.5x55 would be a good choice.

    M38/M96 6.5x55 project

What a great gift! At some point I'll get there with a modern version. I agree that 22-24" would be ideal. But shit look at the velocities I'm getting out of a 18" Carl Gustov barrel! 2904 Fps on average with a 108 Scenar. That's impressive! Closing in on 243 numbers. Granted I'm doing...

    M38/M96 6.5x55 project

Same as the OP, I was looking at a way to get my feet wet with this cartridge. I don't owe the cartridge a favor and don't want a barrel that long for variety of reasons.

Almost done with my fun Swede build. Should have the low profile Warn mount Tuesday. The rail and old strike fire red dot will be gone. Got Trijicon RMO HD going on it. The idea is to have it mounted as low as possible so I can use the iron sights for longer distances...

    6.5x55

Just started load development for a short barrel military build: https://www.snipershide.com/shooting/threads/peruvian-mauser-1932-bolt-shroud-question.7127533/#post-10605949 My focus is on lighter bullets, specifically 100 and 107/108 grains. I have an older Lyman reloading manual with...

Nice rig! BTW I have PBB barrel on a new 7mm Rem Mag build. One day I shall have a Valkyrie in a bolt action!

Gunsmithing Peruvian Mauser 1932 bolt shroud question

Its so light and handy! Have not shot it with the old Vortex red dot in the pic. Just slapped that on after the inital range session as I had trouble seeing the irons with the shade cover at the range. I don't usually shoot at public ranges but today had no choice. The iron sights were dead...

Precision reloading for an M1 Garand…anyone experimented enough to find a 1 MOA load? Is it even possible with a Garand?

16 shots at each piece of tape at 50 yards to confirm I'll be using the Hornady 155 BTHP going forward. Load is 49gr of IMR 4064 with a COAL of 3.200". Rifle has a new Criterion barrel. Has potential in the hand of a skilled shooter. That would not be me!

    .224 Valkyrie

Oh gezz. Thanks for switching on the lights. for me. I don't have any problems. I have a Valkyrie in AR15 (which I mentioned several times) that shoots lights out with 80.5 Bergers. Since this thread is about that platform, I don't know where you get off on giving a dissertation on...

Precision reloading for an M1 Garand…anyone experimented enough to find a 1 MOA load? Is it even possible with a Garand?

A 155 grain bullet seems to be the most accurate in both my Garands. The 155 Amax is the most accurate so far in my limited testing. I'll be testing the 155 Hornady BTHP (both non and cantilever versions) tomorrow as I do not want to use bullets with ballistic tips in this platform.

    .224 Valkyrie

Yup. Totally agree. I shoot the SMK 69 gr almost exclusively out of my 556 AR's. Been wanting to try them in the Valk.

    .224 Valkyrie

I've got my AR15 tuned so perfectly I don't feel the need for a bolt gun. Reliability is stellar primarily due to the SA gas block and JP bolt. To your point though being able to seat bullet past AR magazine length is huge!

    .224 Valkyrie

This cartridge has really grown on me. My sentimets are simalar to the boss. In my case the Berger 80.5's are very evil. Last weekend while verifying my 205 yard dope and windage, I shot 4 out of 5 shots in a .25" group. I about shit my pants! .5 Mil out to 205 yards and 3.1 mils out to 563...

    .224 Valkyrie

Why not a 1:8 twist? The heavier bullets (> 80 grains) suck out of this caliber anyway. At least that's been my exeprience. The 85.5's were just on the edge of consistent results using my 20" 1-7 twist AR but always had the flyer @#%$^&^$$#@!

I may save up my pennies and go the PM 1440 route new, assuming China does not invade. Parts might be tough to get!
