140 eldm vs 147 eldm. Which one?

I bought some factory ammo to use as a baseline to compare with my handloads. The 140s shot ok, but the 147 we're impressive. The fist three 100 yard groups were .5, .4, and .6 inches. I backed it up with a 1.5 inch 300 yard group. That's 5 shots, the middle hole had 2 bullets pass through.

Savior Equipment "LRP" Rifle Bag - Thoughts?

Gotcha. I haven't been to a public range in 12 years since I moved to SD. It's nice to have so much open space. It's the reason I transitioned from mainly pistol to mainly rifle.

    PCC; Scorpion or Stribog?

Absolutely love my Scorpion. I plan on owning a Stribog as well, but I won't get rid of the Scorpion. I researched the hell out of it and knew about the horrible grip angle and horrible trigger when I bought it. I ordered the Magpul grip the day I brought it home. I haven't upgraded the...

    Tikka t3x Whiskey-3 Chassis

My the bolt will come out on 700 pattern short actions, is this not possible with the Tikka? I've owned both the Whiskey and Bravo. They are both awesome. If I wanted to save a pound on my build, I'd go with a Bravo, otherwise the Whiskey is just so darn comfy...

Savior Equipment "LRP" Rifle Bag - Thoughts?

I don't think I've ever used the backpack straps on any bag I've owned. I usually take them off and lose them.

Savior Equipment "LRP" Rifle Bag - Thoughts?

I received the one I ordered off of Amazon yesterday. It was an awesome bag, seemed a lot nicer than my voodoo bag. However, I ordered a 46 and they sent me a 42. A 42-in rifle will not fit in the 42-in bag. My rifles exactly 43-in long, and it was probably a couple inches short. So I sent it...

    Savage Elite Precision feeding problems

Is there a bur or defect on the bolt face that is binding against the back of the round being chambered?

    Precision Rifles.....show em!!

I'll answer the easy one first. Case is a Pelican V800 that was on sale at Cabela's and they let me use my military discount on top of that so it was only $160. Barrel length-Cause I couldn't make up my mind between 24 and 22. It came as a 26 cause they had them on the shelf and I didn't want...

    "Precision Reloading" on a progressive

I used to load 223 and 260Rem on an XL650. I'd do one process at a time but it was still much faster and easier because of the auto case feed. I went through a tough time and had to get rid of it and now I'm loading on Redding single stage. I'm at a point where I'm finally able to shoot more...

    Long range bolt gun suggestions.

Seems like it would be a hell of a rifle for the money and for a first time precision rifle buyer. Although at 600 yards max, the suggestion of 223 seems like a good one. Inexpensive ammo, and it would force you to pay attention to atmospheric variables that won't effect a 6.5 nearly as much.

It's hard to get what you want out of a package, but sometimes it's nice to unload it all at once and be done with it. Your time is worth something as well.

    Rifle Scopes Red Dot Needed

I kinda feel like a red dot reticle is fine no mater what shapes go with it. As long as you shoot it enough to get used to it, it will matter little. If you trained enough with either reticle, I highly doubt your split times would show a difference... I've leaned toward Aimpoints over...

Rifle Scopes New to distance under 500$

If you plan on hunting, especially under 300 yards, I would stay away from fixed power and really try to find something under 4x on the low end. I hunted a lot with a 4.5x and there were times I struggled with close deer. I think the recommendations of something in the 3-15x range would serve...

Rifle Scopes Nikon scopes - any good???!

I've owned a couple Nikon scopes in the past. The glass was ok and I had zero problems with them. I didn't like the reticles. There are a lot of great choices out there right now that I think are better, but if you had one, I'm sure it would be a dependable optic.

First Precision Rifle suggestion, from these five?

I've played with the Havoc a couple times cause I was interested in buying one. Both were brand new. They had an annoyingly sticky action. You have to really concentrate on running it smoothly. Maybe they will break in, and maybe they just need cleaned and lubed. But after seeing similar...
