    another wild guess. .. is action torqued in chassis sufficient. if barrel is "wobbling" more when you shoot of bipod as opposed to supported "sturdier" sandbags, maybe action is a little loose causing some movement under recoil.

    yes. slight difference in bolt head dia. going to 300 mag. 300 RUM would be same as 7 RUM for bolt head dia. could also jump to 338 EDGE off the rum action with same bolt

    if it shoots .308, then it should shoot the .308 case size family. just have to get a barrel spun up. think DTA goes from 223-338 now on the SRS with the SAC 223 conversion

    can get them from almost anywhere that deals in gun parts. look over on savageshooters forum for a list of pre-fit barrel makers. bolt heads you can get from midway, brownells, ptg, etc.
