    I still use a Surefire FA556 and I don’t have any issues with the mount. Technology has grown and there are some better options, however I’ve personally never had issues with the FA QD system.

    I’ve put around 3500 through my surefire and I only take it off to clean it. No issues at all. I too it off with CLR every so often to clean out the carbon.

    I’ve always used rattle can matte clear coat. Always takes paint stripper to get the coats off and I’ve really had it chip.
