    Atlas Bi-Pod Junk???

I have both and the play in the Atlas seem to work better for loading and results in better accuracy. You should not load too much to create tension. I also allow a little play in the Midwest Industries QD mount.

Sidearms & Scatterguns 1911 Quality vs. Price

Mu suggestion is that if cost is an issue you may be well served with a used 1911. I purchase a Wilson CQB with four mags for $2100. It was owned by a LEO that decided he need the cash more than the pistol. I currently also own a Kimber Custom II which I purchased for $695 with three Mags. It...

    Gunsmithing Flaming Pig KX3

It does a good job of directing the sound forward. That's why I bought mine to mount on a 8" 6.8 SBR barrel. I served before we figured out that hearing protection might be a good idea. I am more sound sensitive than recoil sensitive even with plugs and muffs.

Lets start it again: 6.5 Grendel or 6.8?

If a person that passed in the 1950s could be brought back to life and asked what was the biggest change was I would have to explain that I had a gadget in my pocket with which I could access all the information known to mankind. I can also make telephone calls with it without wires like a...

We are our own worst enemy!!!

We have met the enemy and he is us. Folks leave their brains outside and take their rifles into an eating establishment. There is no reason for such silliness. In our town if you have a handgun strapped on and normal appearance no one would even question you but rather assume that your were an...

    Askhole

WOW! Sounds like my clients. I am a consultant and folks pay me a bunch to tell them how to do it or how to do it better. Six or eight months later when I check back they are doing it the same way they were when they first engaged my services. Half of last years projects never made it off the...

    Which Savage do I buy?

This was an economy build and will be a trainer until my skill level justifies something more expensive. It shoots better than I do the trigger works but it takes some getting used to. I am not sure I will keep it: Here's mine - a Savage 16 SS LH action - Criterion light varmint contour 18"...

    Imperial sizing wax.

I keep a batch of funky media to clean cases before I size them. I dip my forefinger in the wax and grab a case an place it in the shell holder making sure to run my fingers around the neck. After sizing I throw the cases back in the tumbler with clean media and tumble for 1/2 an hour to clean...

    Bank Of America on crack?

My wife opened a checking account with them and since she is over 65 was supposed to get free checking. I was there when she opened it. After the account was open for 8 months she noticed they were charging her $15 a month for checking. She went down to the bank and they said sorry our mistake...

Ok I have a poll question M1A or AR10 SASS

The M1a is my sentimental favorite. I have two of them and have owned two others. I could not get even luke warm to the AR platform since 68 when the took my M14 away and stuck me with an M16. All that being said if I had to shoot competition it would be the AR platform. I have 6 of them and...

    Vietnam War M1A

I also used the M14 in the service and would recommend the Springfield M1a loaded with the walnut stock. I have owned four of the Springfield products and currently own two. I took me 35 year for me to get over the Army taking away my M14 and issuing me an M16. The major difference is the M1a is...

    165gr GameKing help

Strange I had the same experience with my M1A. Picked some up during the panic and loaded them just like the SMK 168 grain. I loaded the out to 2.81 and two of them got stuck in the chamber. I measured them out at 2.78. Don't know why but I know the M1A don't like them short. BTW - they group...
