    Variables of AR-10 accuracy

This is very interesting. I feel like you should be getting better accuracy. That's about how my factory SR25 with factory ammo is shooting. I would think that an untouched barrel should do better. Have you tried other variables? Different shooter, different (Factory) ammo, different scope? Are...

    Recommend a Tikka T3

I highly recommend the Tikka, I have a tikka sporter in 260, and it shoots right there with my GAP. For 200 yards, any caliber should work, but a 1:8 twist would be preferable in 223.

Too flute or not to flute?!?!?

Good point. Now I don't have any studies for proof, but in my mind, barrel fluting makes the barrel temperature change even more rapidly. Fluting increases surface area to volume ratio. More surface area allows more diffusion of heat. Meaning the barrel cools down faster. Depending on the rate...

Cz 455 lilja range report after new stock and glass!

Add up the prices before you get a CZ. It ends up costing the same as the Anschutz, and is not as accurate without the Lija barrel. Once you get the Lija barrel, you have an action that is not as robust, and a trigger that is not as good. I finally got an anschutz 54, I'm considering selling...

Spotting Scope in the $600 range.

Probably the pentax PF80 ED, though the eyepiece puts you over budget.

    How rough is too rough?

My remington 700 had a similar barrel. Super rough. While it might not hurt the accuracy, It's a pain to clean the barrel with such a rough bore, you could see streaks of copper down the bore after just a couple of shots. What I did was run the tubb fire lapping kit down the bore, and by the...

BIG FAVOR.......which friggin LWRC . I'm not that familiar with them

All 3 LWRC AR's that I have experience with have had problems. My LWRC is the only AR I have that has had a malfunction. I wouldn't recommend one, but there are plenty of happy owners out there. They tend to be heavy because of the piston, but they do run cleaner when shooting suppressed.

Which bubble level is right for me? (List of available parts and issues with each inside)

While I like the way the USO level works, both examples I have seen have had issues. Neither are actually level, and one has a lot of play in it. To the OP. I've been through several levels at this point. I think the biggest factors are: make sure it is able to display actual level or is...

Rifle Scopes UV filters for protection

Depending on your scope, the filters likely wont fit. I know they dont for nightforce because the threading is different. If you do get a filter, make sure it is a high quality one and multicoated, Good quality filters cost 50-100 dollars depending on the size. The degradation in image...

    Rifle Scopes Nightforce F1 price

Indeed it is. I meant second focal plane. Have you looked though both models? The first focal plane models I have looked through are noticeably clearer. But I have only looked through 3 F1s and 2 2nd focal plane nightforces. The F1's were noticeably clearer. One of the F1's that was an earlier...

    Rifle Scopes Nightforce F1 price

The F1 also appears to have better optics than the NXS line in my opinion.

Bushnell Elite Tactical LMSS 8-40x60mm Spotter on deck!

At this price point, it's both the coatings and the glass. In the world of spotting scopes, both of these are priced towards the low end. Spotting scopes get a lot more expensive, and often will have exotic extra low dispersion glass to allow different wavelengths to focus at the same plane...

Where should I look for the cause of the f$S%* Flyer!!!

Could it be the rifle? Shoot a 10 or 20 shot group, do you still get 1 flier for every 5 shots?

Whats out there for tabletop tripods?

I have not had good luck with the SLIK which is the same as the PRS tabletop tripod I believe. I have found it to be pretty poor quality. Mostly plastic, the adjustments dont hold, and anything over 20x forget it. I haven't found a suitable tabletop tripod yet. I just use a manfrotto or gitzo...

    Nikon 82mm Fieldscope & Pentax PF80ED?

Re: Nikon 82mm Fieldscope & Pentax PF80ED? I would say they are direct competitors. They are both excellent scopes a lot better than their price suggests when comparing to zeiss/leica, etc. I have not looked through the nikon 82, but the Pentax is excellent. I think they don't get much...
