    Cleaning a 308

Re: Cleaning a 308 400 rounds seems like a consent to go with between wet cleanings with most rifles. I clean mine a little more often only because I don´t have a chance to shoot them as much and want to have them cleaned for prolonged storage. Boresnake before first round to ensure clean bore.

Gotta show off somewhere... New Mcrees Stock

Re: Gotta show off somewhere... New Mcrees Stock Forgive a stupid question, but would one of the owners mind measuring the distance from the recoil lug to the bipod spud?

! UPDATE! My new chassis or stock

Re: My new custom stock The vids are awesome, now I need to give a go to a new discipline It seems kind of silly now pondering all the barrel length threads considering the hits you´re making with a 16" "pistol" setup...

Photos Rangemaster Precision Arms Interceptors .223 & 308

Re: Rangemaster Precision Arms Interceptors .223 & 308 The brake is genuine RPA; they´re quite proud of it and don´t sell it cheap, but it works... also, if anyone wants one and uses a mirage band, get one with the screw already. Having gained the experience of drilling and tapping it, it´s...

Atlas or Harris bipods... And why

Re: Atlas or Harris bipods... And why +1 on SniperCJ´s "simple is better" with the omnipresent Harris. Over time I´ve gathered several bipods - long, short, canting... and a set of Phoenix tac. PodClaws that I can swap between them. Great versatility, easy repair or replacement. Had a...

Ordered me some Nosler 6mm 105 Custom Comps!

Re: Ordered me some Nosler 6mm 105 Custom Comps! As you might be able to load them all to the same specs, do you expect making a test and measure actual drop differences at say at least 500m? That would be some considerable intel to see...

    Correct order for reloading

Re: Correct order for reloading Some here are much more careful; it also depends how much you shoot. For me, roughly 200 cases last me a season (.308W). I therefore prepare 200 cases once a year (did them over Xmas actually) - these are fired to match the chamber, then neck-sized with a...

Looking for a great progressive machine

Re: Looking for a great progressive machine +1 for the Dillon; 550 seems popular with some rifle reloaders, but if you´re goind to reload handgun cartridges in volumes, you´ll soon miss the autoindexing of the 650. I reload in "bucket batches" for convenience; with brass tumbled (still...

! UPDATE! My new chassis or stock

Re: My new custom stock I´ve seen these in competition (silhouette) before, never got to trying one out, though. How are your wrists?

    .308 to 1000, 1178, 1385, 1650 and 1950 meters.

Re: .308 to 1000, 1178, 1385, 1650 and 1950 meters. Knowing how satisfying a hit at 1000m is, I´m fond there are people pushing the boundaries ever further. Also, I don´t think I´ll NEED a different caliber for some time, really...

    AI Adjustable Butt plate

Re: AI Adjustable Butt plate You might also be eyeing what I am contemplating at the moment - http://www.eurooptic.com/accuracy-international-aw-quick-adjust-butt-pad-rifle-option.aspx - way overpriced for what it does, but it still beats buying a new rifle for a girlfriend wanting to shoot...

    MDT chassis system

Re: MDT chassis system Would you terribly mind taking a picture with the forearm off? I´m curious and would love to see how does the recoil lug sits in regard of that mid-section; it seems from the pictures the lug area has some negative cant actually, does the recoil lug really rest against...

Range Report Sellier & Bellot 338 lapua ammo?

Re: Sellier & Bellot 338 lapua ammo? Buy a box and see is probably the only reasonable approach. The factory is local to me. Their product usually is "good" for the money, but nothing top notch. The 308 MATCH load was better than nothing before I started reloading, but I wouldn´t even look...

Re: Stalker Gen2 Can that bolt handle be had separately? I´m quite sure that is not a genuine RPA part. Would love it on my Interceptor, though.

F T/R Competition Reducing lock time....?

Re: Reducing lock time....? On the same note, I´ve posted a tech Q in the gunsmithing section a few days ago. This comes from the CG Jackson trigger assembly & set-up manual: I believe their aim is just that - once the sear is disengaged, the bewelled edge of the cocking pin slides off and...

    Gunsmithing Trigger Smithin´ Curiosity

Let me submit the following excerpt for the crowd: It is a part of official Jackson Rifles´ Manual for the CG Jackson (RPA Quadlock) trigger. Now here goes the noob question: what does the radiused cocking pin accomplish? It is the edge that rests against the sear lever when the pin is...

Gunsmithing Fitting Jewell to an RPA

Hello again more educated crowd. Here goes the question: I´d like a Jewell trigger fitted to my RPA Interceptor (Quadlite action) as the RPA trigger (CJ design set permanently at 1.5kg) is rather annoying on a 100% target rifle. The trigger mounts to the action by the means of two screws set...

Range Report Superformance 150gr vs 165 (308) why use 165's??

Re: Superformance 150gr vs 165 (308) why use 165's?? Not wanting to introduce a new thread, would anyone happen to have the G7 for the .308 150grs SST? Hornady lists only the G1 on their web and my google-fu´s failing me.
