Hornady LNL Auto Charge powder dispenser...keeps running over

Go over to Hornady's download page for the autocharge, they have some good instructions on how to fine tune the trickling speed to gain more accuracy while not sacrificing as much speed, I did so with mine when it would have trouble overcharging Reloader 17, issue is gone now. Here it is...

    question?

If you want a 30 cal thats bigger and beefier than the 308, your only real option is the 300WSM, which is one of my favorite cartridges.

    AR receiver 6.8 / .556 differences?

Only differences between 6.8 rifles and 5.56 rifles are the mags, bolts and barrels, everything else is the same. I remember reading somewhere on the 68 forums that 68 mags can be made to work with 5.56 rounds, but not much info on that.

Preferred Mag brands for different caliber AR rifles?

I have CPD 6.8 mags and theyre very good, CPD along with PRI mags are the only 6.8 mags that allow an OAL of 2.3", which is necessary to use the long, heavy rounds for long range work.

Is Primer Pocket Cleaning a MUST???

When I first started reloading, I used to meticulously clean and uniform the primer pockets, then one time I got lazy and didn't do it for one firing, my loads shot the exact same, at least I couldn't shoot the difference. Ever since then, I haven't really cared about primer pockets, as far as...

.300 WSM Accurate or Alpha mags in a short action AICS?

I use alpha mags, they run fine, no tweaking necessary for me. There were a few complaints a while back about the 308 mags having problems feeding, but no such thing from their 300WSM mags.

308 Alpha Type 2 Mag Question

I have the type 3 (same mag, just has the feed lips widened for the 300WSM) and I can (and do) load rounds out to 2.965" just fine, this gives me about .010-.015" room left. I definitely wouldn't load any longer.

Custom .308 F-Class Rifle on Savage Action - Guide and Request for Input

If you're going to go through the trouble, just have Kevin Rayhill make you a custom build, his work is excellent and his turn around time is quick compared to others, and plus hes always available to talk on the phone. Stockade can make you a stock, bottom metal, true the action, do basically...

    what .243 powder?

I use reloader 17, as with my other rifle rounds, works great.

    Stockade DBM

No prob, I would get Kevin Rayhill a call and ask him any further questions, hes always available to help, the stock that you see the DBM in is also made by him, its unfinished and I'm a bit on the lazy side to finish it haha...

    Stockade DBM

I just recently got mine, heres a few crappy pics: Heres the side view a closeup A look inside and a picture of it outside the stock with an Alpha mag in it Its a pretty good system, all mags I have tried fed fine, Alpha mags are a bit tight but fit, all others slide right in. No...

.308- 1:10 twist rate- are 150gr bullets hopeless?

It's very difficult to over-rotate on a 308 with a 1 in 10 twist, I always recommend that twist for .30-cals because even a 110gr. varmint round will stabilize fine on it, I've shot 130gr. TTSX out of my 300WSM for kicks and giggles and it shot just fine. its all about load workup to determine...

    6.8 SPC ??

hmm, I didn't even notice this was so old, the change in the site software brought up a bunch of old posts to the front page for a while, my bad. the 6.8 isn't dead, although the 300BLK is quickly gaining popularity, the 6.8 is still #2 on what's more popular on an AR platform. Federal just...

    6.8 SPC ??

I say its a good deal, with the right bullet combination and if you do your part, it can be effective out to 400-500 yards on game, and is capable of staying supersonic out to 1000 yards out of a 16" barrel, as seen by SSA's 140gr. load for it.

    300wsm out to1800yds?????

Re: 300wsm out to1800yds????? If you want to go long range, velocity is of the utmost importance, so the three I would try are Reloader 17, Magpro, and H4831SC in that order for max velocity. The most consistent is definitely H4831, but you will most likely get more velocity out of the other...

Caliber Choices - Comparison and Applications

Re: Caliber Choices - Comparison and Applications indeed, we are saying the same thing, most modern reloaders load the 284 to 65K anyway. I only wish more factory ammunition was available for the 284. the 150gr. PP at 2860fps is pretty anemic compared to what is achievable, I get 3000fps with...

Caliber Choices - Comparison and Applications

Re: Caliber Choices - Comparison and Applications I'm not speaking about factory ammo, 284Win only had 150gr. powerpoint ammo made by Winchester. If you look at 284 loads in a reloading manual, they are all at 58K PSI. The increase in max pressure does certainly make a difference in velocity...

.284 in Arctic Warfare - Anyone?

Re: .284 in Arctic Warfare - Anyone? The 284 will work in AIAW mags, you will just have less capacity, 5rnd mags will be 4 rounders, 10 rounders will be 8 rounders, otherwise should feed and function fine. The 284 can perform well in a short action, but you will be limited in bullet...
