    Just bought a Savage 10FCP 300WSM

Re: Just bought a Savage 10FCP 300WSM I use Alpha mags for my 300WSM with an aftermarket bottom metal. There are many options available for you as to customizing the Savage, on my 300WSM I had changed everything but the barrel (it had an aftermarket trigger, but I took it off to use on...

Optimal Savage Mod 10 barrel length

Re: Optimal Savage Mod 10 barrel length 20" is my favorite length for a 308 barrel, should do well with a suppressor.

Other than 556 are they worth it?

Re: Other than 556 are they worth it? 6.8 and 6.5 are both very similar out to around 600-700 yards, so you can't go wrong with either if that is the range you will be shooting. I recommend the 6.8 since components and stuff are a little easier to find, not saying that its difficult to find...

Can you short stoke your bolt?

Re: Can you short stoke your bolt? I find that I can't short stroke my CRF rifles (my Ruger M77 is CRF and I have never been able to short stroke it), but some of my push feed rifles I can. One specific example is my 110, its a long action using short action cartridges, so the rifle ejects...

    New build caliber choice

Re: New build caliber choice I went with the 7mm-08, its my second favorite short action cartridge after the 300WSM.

Looking at B&C stocks for 700 SPS Tactical

Re: Looking at B&C stocks for 700 SPS Tactical B&C make very good stocks for the money, you can't really go wrong with em, and their warranty is great as well. I love the light tactical, I wish I could get one but they don't make it for left handed savage rifles.

Rifle Scopes Burris rings...good deal? Quality?

Re: Burris rings...good deal? Quality? I have a set of xtr's that I use for my weaver tactical on my savage, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with them. they hold the scope just fine and when I remove the scope to save space and bolt it back on at the range, it maintains its zero, I...

    6.8 or 300 blackout

Re: 6.8 or 300 blackout Just for kicks, heres a CPD 25 rounder: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/310959/...ess-steel-black That one is out of stock though, and I can't really use that here in Cali, so heres the 10 rounder: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/186454/...ess-steel-black Thats...

    6.8 or 300 blackout

Re: 6.8 or 300 blackout Man, if Cali wasn't so retarded when it comes to owning suppressors, I would have bought a 300Blk along with the 6.8 I already have on order to play with, I can't imagine a more fun plinking gun and I already use 200gr+ bullets for my 300WSM (anyone use 230gr. Bergers...

    6.8 or 300 blackout

Re: 6.8 or 300 blackout I think we got most of the discrepancies out of the way now, that and there are some points I don't feel the need to debate on. You can go to SSA's website and take a look at which tactical loads aren't loaded to 58K pressure, which is pretty much all of them except...

    Stockade Savage stock question

Re: Savage stock question Stockade makes good stuff, I have two of his stocks on order right now, their PD/T and Rollover thumbhole (though I might change the thumbhole). Stockade is well known in the Savage world as making quality stocks and Kevin Rayhill is one of the most knowledgeable...

    300 WM accuracy

    Opinions on composite AR platform

Re: Opinions on composite AR platform I have only heard of one failure of the new frontier polymer lower, and that was when someone ran it over with a lawnmower, now unless you are going to do combat against endless hordes of bloodthirsty lawnmowers, I think a polymer lower will work just fine.
