American Rifle Company New Archimedes Action, New Xylo Chassis, and major Mausingfield revision

Anyone have a Vector in a Xylo? Mine is not doing to well in the magazine department. Edit: It appears that there is not enough material in the magazine cut on the Vector to stop the front of the magazine from just slipping on in there. MDT ACC did not have this problem and neither did the...

Rifle Scopes Vortex viper pst 2 MOA VS MRAD

I concede, you are right, that is much better then what I was trying to do. Would this be correct for MOA?: 7 MPH Gun = 400 2 23MPH Wind x 3 = 6 add a .25 for 23 instead of 21, you have 6.25

You call tenths because you have a ruler that measures in tenths. There is nothing stopping you from using a spotting scope with MOA reticle and call MOA adjustments to a shooter using a MOA scope.

Rifle Scopes Vortex viper pst 2 MOA VS MRAD

I get that but a ballistic calculator is going to give you 32 or 32 1/4 or 32 2/4 or 32 3/4. Only an idiot would set the calc to give them clicks. The only real math is ranging and wind MPH. For ranging you run into multiplying/dividing by random garbage regardless of MOA or MIL and a slide...

What does 17 have to do with anything? Is someone calling out corrections in clicks? wtf

I think Frank devalues it because he is very passionate about the IPHY thing. It seems like at one point there was a scope with IPHY turrets and MOA reticle and that has spoiled MOA for him. Plus all the dumb people saying MOA is more precise or that the only difference between IPHY and MOA is...

What? You use H4350 in 300 Win Mag? That doesn't seem right.

Using a FL bushing die in conjunction with a mandrel die

You do want to take out the expander ball in the die though, Redding dies usually have a little nubbin thing to replace the expander ball that allows you to keep the decapping pin in without touching the necks.

Using a FL bushing die in conjunction with a mandrel die

You still need a bushing. Bushing dies usually don't size 100% of the neck. Shoulder bump is going to be from how far down you screw the die in. I go for 2 thou bump and I use a -3 thou bushing so I can test with -2 or -1 thou mandrels but I usually get good enough results with -1 thou that I...

The worst you will ever be off by with 1/4 MOA per click turrets is 1/8 MOA. The worst you will ever be off by with .1 MIL per click turrets is .05 MIL. So the worst possible case for the difference between a 1/4 MOA per click scope and a .1 MIL per click scope is .047 MOA. Which is .49 inches...

    Alpha Dasher brass

I have some RL16 I am not using for anything that I might try since it seems to give more velocity then H4350 with less pressure but IDK how well it would work with 105 Bergers. If I understand the Dasher correctly, H4350 and RL16 might be better suited for 110 SMKs or 115 DTACs though I could...

    Alpha Dasher brass

Looks like I have a fairly tight chamber, the shoulders only grew 1 thou, not sure if that is contributing to the heavy bolt lift at 32.6 grains of varget. Shoulder width and case length stayed the same, web grew 2 thou. Fired neck is 272/2715 and loaded is 269, not sure what the general...

You literally said "If you ever want to use your reticle to do any ranging then mil is easier to use than MOA." Which is the dumbest shit ever. I don't think anyone disagrees that a LRF is superior but you are the one that brought up ranging with a reticle. The only real time someone needs to...

Rifle Scopes Vortex viper pst 2 MOA VS MRAD

OK got it, so it only works for your targets and you would be fucked if you went to an UKD match or needed to shoot an animal whose height you know in inches. Again, converting to mm is the easy part... diving by fractions is the hard part. And again, anyone with a MOA scope and a mildot master...

    Realistic SD expectation debate!!

At one point long ago with my 6.5 creedmoor I had stopped tinkering with reloading to shoot 90 rounds of the same charge weight. 1 round was not picked up on the labradar and the last 10 shot group I only took down the stats and not the individual numbers so I ended up with: Total Sample (79...

As well as any angular issues, tilted towards or away from you. And if you use width then it can be angled slightly also. Although IIRC it is cosine and it takes a significant angle to have a large effect but then again it only takes a small % in miscalculation of ranging to cause a miss at...
