.308 ammo for positional/barricade on steel practice

I am thinking of trying to use cheaper alternative to .308 FGMM when doing positional/barricade steel practice. Have others done it? What make/model of ammo in .308 worked well? Thanks!

    In ear electronic hearing protection.

I started using these: Walker Razro . Successfully used then in a one day precision rifle class. The only downside is that the wire can get snagged on stock/rifle parts. I had one side getting pulled out of my ear by accident. They do a good job of noise cancelling and also pair with your BT device.

Rifle Scopes Scope Choice for Multi-Caliber Precision Rifles

One decision method: buy what's on sale that also has a good resale value. Like my friend said, unless you actually use an item, you will never know if it's right for you. To me re-zero means starting from scratch. However, a more precise statement would be: barrel changes require adjustments to...

To be precise it's actually 5 - 5.5 NM according to the manual. 45 in lbs (same torque used for Sphur mount falls into this range). So I have 1 torque wrench for two tasks :)

Rifle Scopes How do Steiner M5 series turrets work/attach ?

Thanks Geoff! I am curious specifically how the set screws secure the know - it isn't obvious that they are gripping anything. I will give you guys a call.

    Rifle Scopes YUUUUUUUUGE S&B sale

I am torn between 5-25 Gen 2 xr MTC in Pantone, 3-20 MTC in Black or the classic 5-25 DT in Black.

What gear should I buy to DIY mount a scope?

Arisaka only works if there is enough clearance between the scope and rail. It will most likely NOT work if mounting a "largish" scope inside a one piece mount. E.G: It didn't work for me with S&B 3-20 US inside Geissele mount.

    AIAX differences Pre/Post 2014

I owned MK II, MK III and now a Post 2014 AX. I find the new stock a huge improvement over the Pre-14 version and highly recommend. The quick change barrel is also nice.

Do you Compete or just like to shoot?

I find that "just shooting" gets boring to me, as the two clubs where I shoot on a regular basis have known distance ranges, with somewhat strict rules.

Do you Compete or just like to shoot?

I shot my first PRS match and enjoyed it. I still have ways to go before being remotely competitive. Unfortunately the only two places that host matches are 2 - 2.5 hours away from me.

    Newbie needs AI purchasing advice

Like the previous poster your best bet could be calling Eurooptic or Mile High to cover all your bases. Here are some answers I know: The conversions / different barrels can be purchase at any time. No need to mail the rifle. The bipod would attach to a piccatiny rail piece on the forearm...

Rifle Scopes How do Steiner M5 series turrets work/attach ?

I am curious what mechanism Steiner uses to keep the turret knobs on the turrets. The small set screws don't appear to hold the turret to the inner post. Thanks!

Geissele SSA/SSA-E or Larue MBT. I had poor experience with Jard - heavy/creepy trigger.

Rifle Scopes Scope mount Question- Larue

I believe both Larue and ADM require to to tighten the bottom screws on their rings first. A number of knowledgeable people recommend tightening the levers to the point of requiring a tool to open it in order to be as "bullet proof as possible", thus defeating the QD.

Rifle Scopes Scope mount Question- Larue

After trying a Spuhr, I too am impressed with quality and look for occasional sales, etc..However, for daily use I like Badger unimounts. While not QD they have been rock solid for me and should cost a little less than Larue. Even when switching scopes between two rifles, QD isn't required as...
