Sidearms & Scatterguns Quicker reload with Glocks???

Re: Quicker reload with Glocks??? It's called auto forwarding and has nothing to do with slide stop wear. It's usually caused by forcefully inserting the magazine with a slight forward momentum. Slowing down slightly, and making sure the magazine goes straight up will mitigate this. Still, it...

Training Courses Precision rifle classes in the Northeast

Re: Precision rifle classes in the Northeast I took Sig's 2 day advanced precision rifle. Unfortunately, it was a waste of my time and money, as the instructor, Scott Kenneson, didn't teach much. It was just two days of range shooting in the guise of a class.

Does the ADM recon mount work with the AI AE pic rail (due to the some of the slots missing). Thanks!

Training Courses Precision rifle classes in the Northeast

Are there any classes planned in the Northeast or close by? I am looking for something like a 3 day class that shoots out to 600-800 yards.

Gunsmithing Previously bedded stocks with a new action

In my search for a used AICS, I came across people that have had their stocks bedded to their action before selling. If I was to acquire it and put my Rem 700 SA action into it, what potential downfalls could there be? I would prefer not to have re bed it. What are some of the things to be on...

Starting in reloading - initial purchase

Re: Starting in reloading - initial purchase Thanks for the info so far. I was basing my purchases on Mail Call Mondays, and just haven't gotten to the part where he cleans brass for the tumbler/media, etc.. My purpose is to reload for my "precision" rifle. (700 LTR in .223 with 1/9 twist)...

Starting in reloading - initial purchase

I am thinking of starting to reload for precision rifle in .223 caliber. I have picked the following items for my "initial" purchase. Am I missing anything? Any other suggestions? Here is the list: Lee Precision Kit Bullet Puller Reloading Manual Lee Precision .223 dies RCBS Hand...

    .223 as a starter rifle?

Re: .223 as a starter rifle? I run a .223 as my only precision rifle because the longest range I have access to is 300 yards. I think .223 is great rifle caliber to have and may be the one that makes the most sense depending on the situation.

Attaching pic rail to the bottom of AX stock toe

Re: Attaching pic rail to the bottom of AX stock toe Bob, Thanks for the info, but I am wondering if there is any way to attach the pic rail to the bottom most part - the one where you have AX spike - I presume?

Attaching pic rail to the bottom of AX stock toe

I'm wondering if anybody had success in figuring out how to attach a small piccatiny rail segment to the bottom of AX stock's toe to allow use of a rail based monopod (ala PRS stock).

Getting a custom rifle with no history?

Re: Getting a custom rifle with no history? Thanks for the feedback. I decided to wait and see, since I already have one rifle that's a shooter.

Getting a custom rifle with no history?

I found what I think is a decent deal (~2200) for a blueprinted Rem 700 Action, custom 1/8 barrel chambered in .223 in AICS chassis. I'm thinking about getting it, however I am concerned by the fact that the owner does not know the build history/gunsmith and the specific barrel make. Does it...

Remington 700 LTR in JP AMCS

Re: Remington 700 LTR in JP AMCS I like it. Some downsides: There is a little play in the stock's locking mechanism when at the extended position. This is noticeable when building up a position. Also, you may need an extra long bit if using torque wrench to tighten the action screws, since...

Remington 700 LTR in JP AMCS

After a hiatus in bolt action rifles, I decided to get a rifle that would be relatively inexpensive to shoot. Since the longest range I have access to is 300 yards, I decided to go with .223 Remington. The resulting rifle is an older Remington 700 LTR with 1/9 barrel inside JP AMCS chassis. The...

    Recommend a good thigh holster

Re: Recommend a good thigh holster OP, have you tried belt mounted holsters? If you find strong side uncomfortable, give cross draw a try, since one of the benefits of cross draw holsters is ease of draw while seated.

    Recommend a good thigh holster

Re: Recommend a good thigh holster If you don't have a real requirement for a thigh holster, don't get it. They get uncomfortable and shift. Your best bet is a belt or a belt holster with drop and offset attachment. I would also avoid all nylon holsters. Their time has come and gone. The...

JP AMCS - using recommend torque for action screws

Those that run JP AMCS - are you using the recommend torque settings (45 in/lb front and 30 in/lb rear) or do you tighten it a little more? What setting gives the best acuracy? Thanks.
