Larue SPR 1.5 (lt104) too high for Remington 700?

I used the LT104 on my 700 with a NF scope and AICS. Although it was pretty high, the adjustable cheek piece made it workable. The think that KILLED me was the eye relief. Because the 104 moves the scope forward some, I had trouble having adequate LOP and getting a good sight picture at the same...

    Gunsmithing Cerakote coming off

Thanks for the responses... I know the smith outsources the cerakote jobs to someone else to get it done, so hopefully he will be just as interested/concerned. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Gunsmithing Cerakote coming off

I'm not sure if Gunsmithing is the right place for this - mods please move if I'm wrong. I had a custom rifle built about a year ago, and had the entire thing Cerakoted in Sniper Grey (which I love). I have taken good care of the rifle, kept it oiled, but it is ~500 rounds in and it looks...

    Giving up on Berger Hybrids

I've finally seen several websites showing the Berger 140gr BTHP match (different from VLD or hybrid) is stock, so hopefully that means they are doing a run of 6.5mm bullets and are about to ship some hybrids. Thanks for posting that video above from Brian Litz. Just to speculate some, if...

    Throat wear.

It's the throat that wears out. I know it is a different caliber (one more prone to throat erosion that a .308WIN), but I have been tracking the throat erosion on my 6.5x55. The first ~250 shots eroded the throat 0.015", and the next ~250 eroded it ~0.007 more. This is measuring with the...

Newbie to reloading. Tumbling brass vs ultrasound cleaning

Disclaimer - I have never used ultrasonic. I have been very impressed with SS tumbling. Upfront cost is low ($50 for dual 3lb Harbor freight tumbler + $20 for SS pins + $15 for lemi shine and soap), result is great. Much cleaner than corncob/walnut shell vibratory tumblers. Probably better for...
