Rifle Scopes MIL or MOA Reticle

If you're picking MOA because 1 inch at 100 yards sounds easy to understand you should realize that 1 MOA is not 1 inch at 100 yards, it's 1.047". Turrets that click 1/4 MOA are not .25 inch clicks, the clicks are .26 inches at 100 yards. For range estimation your constant is not 100, it's...

Rifle Scopes MIL or MOA Reticle

For me, all the math is hard. I think and speak in terms of inches, but I can't multiply any better by 95.5 for MOA than I can multiply anything times 27.78. So, I'll be using a calculator either way...if for some reason I was to find myself having to do range estimation at various unknown...

    More TRG questions

I fired the first shots through my TRG 42 this weekend. After extensive reading on this site...(drumroll)...I did not do any break in procedure. Lowlight and some others seem to have strong feelings about how unnecessary it is.

    .300 Win Mag/208 A-Max. H-1000 or Retumbo?

Good thread. Those loads do seem short. My COAL's on 208's in a TRG 42 were 3.665. I went 2.945 to the Ogive which put me .01 off the lands (using the Hornady). That seems pretty in line with a lot of guys I see saying they use a COAL of 3.65 w/ 208's to be 10 thou jump

    Sidearms & Scatterguns Baton question

Batons, like Asp, are pretty inconvenient to carry around without a duty belt...more so than a gun. Unless there is some reason you can't carry a gun, like you're a felon, which would be strange to be on a gun website in the first place. But don't bring a baton to a gun fight.

Maggie’s Excessive force? Maybe? Maybe not?

I bet there is some relevant backstory to this. I don't think that group of officers was a patrol squad who happened upon a guy asleep and decided to shoot him. The guy apparently had some mental disorder; the first thing he says on the video to the officers is that if they were at a bar right...

Would anyone actually enforce the law if I made my road a shooting range...Opinions?

Even if cars never come down that road, about the time you fire is right about the time some lost tourist will come wandering down that county road and have a .30 cal rip through the windshield. That's just the way the world works..Murphy's Law and all

What beam powder scale do you use?

dang that is a good idea; I don't know why that didn't occur to me. I use a 10-10. works great and accurate. I don't know why people bitch that beams are slow

How important is a seater die

I just started using the Redding micrometer and I am real impressed. I need to seat say .012 deeper..dial it up and dead nuts .012 deeper. Plus, I was using regular Hornady dies before and was getting runout in the .005 area, but with the Redding every round was less than .001

    Reloading cost

Reloading to save money is just what you tell the wife. It is a great hobby though. Actually firing the bullet has become just the final step in a long complex science experiment

Rifle Scopes Razor HD Gen II 4.5-27x56

Thought I would share this quote: "Unless there is something catastrophic I missed, Vortex just threw a bit of a monkey wrench into the high end tactical world... S&B, Hensoldt, etc have largely moved their prices north of the $4k mark, so they better have something up their sleeve to...

Rifle Scopes High End Tactical, Part IV: The Heavyweights

Great write up ILya. As highly as you have regarded Premiere and especially March in some of your previous articles, the fact that you put the Gen II Razor in their class speaks volumes. I feel like I made a good choice going with the Gen II Razor. These types of comparisons are well beyond my...

Well, I couldn't take it anymore. I put in the order today. Vortex is a great company and hopefully this scope will be everything it's expected to be. If not, I blame Rob01 and ILya....lol. Btw, I was told an ETA of around June.
