KRG Windbreaker is my favorite venue thus far.
Hornady PRC is also on my list of must attend matches from all the photos I’ve seen of it.
Pics from this years KRG.
I've not shot either of those bullets in a while, most of my chambers have been .104 with 105 hybrids. You'll probably want .130 freebore or longer for the DTACs, I remember those having a very long bearing surface.
I've not tried the spexlite. I did run Gitlite for my rear bag for a year or two but found that it wasn't quite as stable as the OG gamechanger with standard fill.
I added red dots to my pistols this past year. For me it was a massive difference. Yes, some dry fire training is needed to build my index so that my draw and dot presentation comes naturally and forcing myself to target focus.
The dramatic difference for me was in the quality of the feedback...
My kit for the last year or two has been a Schmedium +1 with glass bead fill (11lb 10oz) and an original full size game changer with the standard large poly bead fill. I like the Schmedium +1 for anything positional and the OG gamechanger as a rear bag. Not light, but what I've found to work the...
@Mark_Dorman cool to see you're local around these parts.
With a TT Diamond Pro-curve my grip to trigger measures around 1.95" for a Genesis MG2 and 1.75" for the Centurion. I don't have the Manners TCS stock but I do have a Manners EH1 and the Genesis MG2 feels more similar to it than the...
IMO I wouldn't switch guns if you love the AXSA and are just getting started in PRS. It will be a learning curve even if you go out and buy a full comp rig, so why not just shoot and keep the rifle you love? If you shoot enough PRS that you are going to dive into the deep end, then another rifle...
Been there and still fight that battle myself. When I see shots go high I go straight to the assumption that it was my screw-up by letting the muzzle flip high, not anything wrong with the rifle system. Here's my mental cues and training focus, just writing them out is a good exercise for...
We had a PRS night match here last weekend. Suppressors only, no white lights on the firing line, all the targets were illuminated by battery powered spotlight and most had flashers. We had one fun stage where we did bolt gun 3 shots, then lever action suppressed stage rifle at a Texas Star for...
Coming from a PRS background, here's the things I took away from my first NRL Hunter match. I both shot individual and also RO'd and watched everyone shoot.
Speed to getting on glass is super important, every second you add to time on glass increases opportunity to find targets and gives you...
At the upper end of performance with a custom 22LR build you can get very good results. My RimX build with a Bartlein/Modacam barrel shoots very close to one hole groups (sub 1/4") at 50 yards and 1/2" groups at 100 yards, Lapua Super LR ammo.
Both my Stuteville and TS Custom's Impact prefits have been stellar. They've been on Bartlein blanks but I'm looking forward to trying CRB at some point.
Can't go wrong with Impact, they are a great choice. I think you might need to go to the 787R action if you're doing a 338 Lapua bolt face. Their website says:
Will feed CIP length cartridges

IMO, sizing to a case gauge is effectively sizing to the lowest common denominator aka making the smallest possible ammo so that it will fit in every rifle possible. The net result of that is that you are oversizing your brass and will shorten brass life. And you may be running way more bullet...
They are all JBM numbers run with the same environmental conditions.
A Dasher with 109 hybrid at 2820 just barely breaks into the 0.6 mil wind drift range. It also is slightly more recoil, 3.2 vs 3.1. Probably would be easier to see the graph if it was inches of drift instead mils, but the net...
For the most part I think it's the goldilocks effect. It's mainly a sliding scale between more recoil vs better ballistics. If you can handle more recoil and still maintain good vision downrange, the 25 cal sort of sits in the "just right" spot.
Here's some rough numbers comparing typical...
It's so you can run lower pressures which is easier on the brass and the entire system. Gun needs to work 100% even in filthy dusty windy grit as well as in downpour rain and mud.
You can obviously run a bigger case like a GT or Creed at the same low speed/pressures and that works good too...
