    gonna finally start reloading

Re: gonna finally start reloading I started with the LEE Annivesarry (sorry, bourbon)kit for about $100. If you're starting out, theres most of the sruff you need, minus dies and cartreidge components. I found that I acquire the luxury stuff over time, and cheat until I can afford them...

Load data for 210 SMK in .308?

Re: Load data for 210 SMK in .308? For fun, I tried them in a LR308 with not so good results, but there's a caveat in that something didn't go according to plan from load testing to shooting at range. My OCW test showed about a 55fps increase total from 45.6 to 47.1 grains of RL-17. The...

    Range Report what causes this?

Re: what causes this? My LR308 does that with every cartridge I fire, factory or handload, and my handloads are all on the light side. I wouldn't worry about it.

    AR reloading & chamber temperature

Re: AR reloading & chamber temperature I agree with you on the powder temp. I think where I'm getting the problem is when I shoot a group of five to ten rounds, the gun is blistering hot, so I drop the empty mag and leave the bolt open for about ten minutes. When I get ready to shoot again...

    AR reloading & chamber temperature

I shoot a LR308 with 20" Krieger barrel that gives me fits with consistency. I can shoot bugholes one day and then scatter groups the next, and ambient temperature doesn't seem to be the cause. I've done all sorts of load development with many different types of powder, and even tried some...

    Rifle Scopes Corrective Eye Surgery

Re: Corrective Eye Surgery I had the I-LASIK - it's all lazer, no blades. I had -3.50 in both eyes and now have 20/15 in both eyes. My eyesight is incredible now. Best $ ever spent. My recovery time was really short, too; no pain or discomfort at all, I just couldn't rub my eyes in the...

    Rifle Scopes Horus scopes ?

Re: Horus scopes ? I've used a Hawk out to 514 yards and it works great. Glass is pretty decent; not high end of course, but nice for $500. I wanted the reticle and at the time couldn't swing the $1500 or more to get it in a NF or Leupold. You are definitely gambling though as the warranty...

    43.5g of varget with a 175g SMK

Re: 43.5g of varget with a 175g SMK Some more pressure signs to look for: ejector wipe (look on the case head for really shiny spots), bent (slightly) case rim, and case heads that are too large to fit into your shell holder when you reload. Something that is handy for field testing is to...

    AR10 Specific Loads Needed

Re: AR10 Specific Loads Needed I have a LR308 with a 20" Krieger Criterion heavy barrel that I've done all sorts of load testing with 155, 165, and 175 grain bullets. So far it likes the 175s best. Here is a recent load up that I did while pressed for time, but I think I'm in the right...

Brass catcher project, show me yours

Re: Brass catcher project, show me yours Mine's not as high tech as yours: It works ok. I'd say about 90% gets caught in it.

LR-308 COL change after chambering. Help!

Re: LR-308 COL change after chambering. Help! Perfectly normal in auto loaders. http://www.snipershide.com/forum/ubbthre...376#Post1410376 Think about an inertia bullet puller. Same concept. As long as you have brass with decent neck tension, you'll be fine.

    DPMS SASS accuracy issue?

Re: DPMS SASS accuracy issue? Mine doesn't like 168 FGMM, but seems to like the 175s. I have the heavy FA 20" barrel. Funny, I found out this weekend that my rifle loves the 150 gr Remington Cor-Lokt ammo that I use to foul the bore before shooting good ammo. Weird.

Suppressors Acuracy and reliability between G17 and baretta 92

Re: Acuracy and reliability between G17 and baretta 92 Glock. I've had both, and the Glock is as reliable as a hammer. I can't say that about the 92; the Beretta magazines are a huge weakpoint, and the Glock's are not. Accuracy between the two is negligible.

    Troy BattleRail MRF-308 13.8" - experience?

Re: Troy BattleRail MRF-308 13.8" - experience? I have one; they are well made. I don't know the weight, but it does completely cover the gas block. You have to file a notch in the barrel nut for the gas tube to sit in, but that only takes a couple of seconds to do with a round file...

Rifle Scopes Horus Vision Hawk... Why dont i ever see them?

Re: Horus Vision Hawk... Why dont i ever see them? The only scope that I have seen in the same vicinity as the Hawk with a similar reticle at a similar price is the Zeiss Conquests with the 600/800/1000 BDC reticles. They look nice. Hell, anything looks nice on a M1A!

Rifle Scopes Horus Vision Hawk... Why dont i ever see them?

Re: Horus Vision Hawk... Why dont i ever see them? Mine's been pretty decent, though I don't like the 1 yr warranty either. I do like the Horus reticle though. See my through the reticle pics of the Hawk at the bottom of this post -...

    Rifle Scopes Horus Reticle

Re: Horus Reticle Something I missed, the reticle is FFP, so when you back the power down to 3 or 4x, the grid can barely be seen. You can bracket a target quickly between the two thick horizontal stadia though, just know that the crosshairs on the lower powers are really really small.

    Rifle Scopes Horus Reticle

Re: Horus Reticle I bought the Hawk about a year and a half ago. I decided that I wanted the Horus reticule, but since I couldn't afford a USO, I went with the cheapest Horus scope they had. So far it's been good to go; although I admit that a 1 year warranty doesn't inspire much...

    Rifle Scopes Scope slipping, WTH????

Re: Scope slipping, WTH???? I had a scope that I could not keep from shifting in the rings: Burris XTR rings, Horus Hawk, DPMS LR308. Like you said, torque the rings down in a criss-cross pattern, and when I would shoot it you could see that the scope slid just a little bit. I was told to...
