Do you recall what elevation and temperature you plugged in for that data?

Could very well be, but I thought we were talking about CMP auctions.

    CMP Auction Unertl 10x

The last one went for 6007 Civilian Marksmanship Program - Promoting firearms safety training! The most I have seen one go for through CMP was 6502 (some may have slipped by me though), with about 6k being the usual price realized.

Case Study Of Optimum Barrel Time For 308

How can this make sense? I would think the harmonics of a barrel would be dependent on only that portion of the barrel that is free to vibrate. i.e. ahead of the receiver or lug, not including any part that is essentially one with the receiver.

Case Study Of Optimum Barrel Time For 308

If the program can calculate for actual charge weights and precise vertical units of point of impact in milimeters I assume there must be provisions for entering powder lot numbers and barrel cross sectional density and material as well?

Rifle Scopes Can you leave a rifle scope in a hot car?

It was a reasonable question. I think the answer could be summed up thusly......high temperatures certainly don't do your scope any good. Avoid it as much as possible and your seals will thank you for it for a long time to come.

Spoke with federal today at NRA about Federal small and large rifle match grade primers.

But, if that's true, it's not to be inferred that CCI-BR2 and Fed210Ms have the same burn characteristics, right? From what I understand, the 210M is much hotter than the CCI-BR2.

    M40a1 build guide

When I mentioned the specific E-prefix M40A1 serial numbers, those were from photos and video still-frame enlargements I have available. The original M40A1s were roll stamped at the factory. I was asking a 2112 about later markings once, and it was said that while some 2112s stamped "U.S." on...

You may be right about the bolt handles. This is a feature I hadn't considered or really studied before now. The 99 C-prefix barreled actions were purchased during the 1992 fiscal year (1OCT1991-30SEP1992), according to DFA vol.2. I have seen E-prefixed M40A1s in the E67048(or 9?)36...

Spoke with federal today at NRA about Federal small and large rifle match grade primers.

I don't know what they use now, but my 175gr. FGMM from a couple years ago had what looked and measured like RL-15, and the web is full of sites and posts stating RL-15 is what they use(ed?). My old 168 gr. FGMM had IMR4064 in it at that time (from 20 years ago).

Mil value changes with range? How do you use it?

It's pretty obvious at this point that some aren't reading through the thread before posting. The situation now is.... What I'd like to know is what are the shooters doing with your correction calls in inches? Do they even have a way to correct in inches using their reticles? Or are they...

    M40a1 build guide

MescaBug, by other features I now see that your rifle is too early for the swept back bolt. However, your bolt handle above the knob is of the thin variety. I don't believe M40s were made on any actions that had the thin handles, though I'm not sure. The thin handles were earlier. What serial...

Maybe it's just the angle of the picture, but is that one of those that has the bolt handle swept back more?

MagnetoSpeed V2 V3 side by side

Usually. But very few metals are magnetic, and only iron is highly magnetic. If your bullets have no iron or steel in them, then the question is moot. Neither copper nor lead are magnetic.

Mil value changes with range? How do you use it?

It's easy. Just remember a mil is 3.6" at 100 yards. For calculations good enough for your friends, just remember 3.5" per 100 yards, or you can very roughly divide the space between markings into quarters for 1" per hundred yards per quarter mil. If they are shooting at 800 yards and the splash...
