How many sheets of printer paper between floated barrel and stock?

Anybody care to explain this charge weight/POI ridiculousness?

And temperature! One can chase nodes his whole life.

    Prone- Slung and Biopod

Good for you! NO sitting position works well for me. Apparently I jave a very long torso, and I always end up pointing into the dirt unless I choke up on the stock like crazy. No service rifle has a hand stop/sling swivel far enough back for me and I end up having to use that messy spray glue-...

How do I use the Sling with Bipod?

Because in a tactical scenario..... the ground is always flat. the target is always within five degrees of elevation. the target will always appear straight in front of your firing position. you always want your rifle physically attached to your body. you will always have an uninjured...

Ruger American ( the new 700)?

Most of you may be too young to know about this, but I still haven't forgiven Ruger for proposing the normal ("high") capacity magazine ban in the '80s. That was, IMO, unforgivable.

Do not buy or trust a lifeproof case!!!!!!

I have a 5S right here in front of me that was in a Lifeproof case. I found it this summer while diving the southern California coast. Found at 15', it had sea water in it. Bummer. Nice paper weight though.

Advanced Marksmanship How do I tell if a twist is RH or LH?

JFYI, doesn't make any difference whether chamber to muzzle, or muzzle to chamber, the twist will still be in the same direction either way.

    Rifle Scopes Lapping scope rings?

I should add that this was a unitized mount. Doesn't apply in most cases, so you're right, of course.

    Rifle Scopes Lapping scope rings?

Yeah, one would think. But I've seen beautifully machined rings on a warped base.

Test Results: Accuracy/Precision of Annealed, Non-Annealed, COAL to Magazine Length and ti

After running the case into the sizing die, try rotating the case a quarter turn and running it back into the die a second time. I found that reduced my headspace variation to practically nil.

Rifle Scopes Is anyone out there doing thorough tracking tests on their scopes?

Which is why I would think a well-fitting laser bore sighter would give better results. Any down side to using one for this purpose?

Cutting foam in a pelican case

So, I assume Pelican is back to solid sheets of foam, instead of that pick-and-pull cube crap they had for a while?

    168 SMK's with 4064

How did the 43.5 load shoot? My 168gr. FGMM duplicate loading was 43.6gr. of 4064, which would vary a couple tenths depending on the lot.

    Follow Through

It might be nice to find yourself back on target, but it has absolutely nothing, nada, zilch, squat to do with follow-through. In fact, not finding yourself on target may be a good indication that your follow-through is already excellent. Follow-through is nothing more than continuing to keep...

    XM118LR questions

Years back, I disassembled several FGMM 175gr. cartidges. I found each had 42.8gr. of a powder that looked like, measured the same dimensionally as, and burned like RL-15......."canister-grade powder".......(blah!blah!blah!)......sounds authoritative.....big deal.....pretty amazing...

    Will tumbling remove Tempilaq?

Tempilaq leaves a kind of ash. NO PROBLEM AT ALL. Even if you don't tumble, a quick pass with a nylon brush takes care of it, if it really concerns you.

IMR 4064 vs varget for 308

Yeah, then you have to find "the load" again for the next batch number. I have enough prmers for a while, as much powder as I can legally have, and now I am buying as many bullets as I can afford and find each month until I have enough to send with the primers I have. I try to balance what I...

New load development: 168 SMK with IMR 4064

Federal brass is notoriously soft. 43.8 gr. of 4064 is not high pressure so you shouldn't notice any pressure signs, but don't be surprised if after about five loadings your primers feel loose going into the primer pockets. Unless you want to pit/etch your bolt face, don't shoot with loose...
