New Guy Powder Question for 6.5 Creemoor

I am new to reloading and want to develop a load for my 6.5 CM. I realize that H-4350 is a popular powder, but I cannot find it. What are some other powders for 140 grain a-max or Bergers? I apologize for asking a question that is probably common. I am new to this forum. Thanks

2014 STEEL SAFARI - Match Announcement

Thank you Zak. That makes the Creedmore a lot more attractive.

    Where is my larue!

I'm not a fanboy. Ordered mine in November of 2012. Received it two weeks ago. It shoots great. It's a half minute gun with factory federal smk 175. I am happy with the rifle. Great quality. It seems that most vocal posters in this forum dislike Larue. I'm agnostic and my...

2014 STEEL SAFARI - Match Announcement

I just registered and am looking forward to it. This is my first competition. Is there time to check your zero each morning? I will likely shoot my Creedmore, but I like the .300 winmag. However, if I can't clean between days (and recheck zero), the win mag is out. Is there enough...

    LaRue OBR 7.62

I am not upset with the wait. I am upset because I think that LT deceived its customers. I've been waiting for more than a year. No problem with that. I wouldn't have had an issue if LT had been communicative. However, Mark may have some issues with his pride. His employees have been...

Brand New Hill Country Rifles 6.5 Creedmore Build

Thanks. I'll stick with that. I also liked the Creedmore in the end because I wind up gravitating to Hornady ammo if I don't load my own. I also like Nosler and Nosler now makes ammomand brass for it. Finally, my smith said that they have had a lot of luck building consistently highly...

Brand New Hill Country Rifles 6.5 Creedmore Build

Finishing up the selections for my Hill Country Rifles build. Going with a 24 inch benchmark barrel, mcmillan a 3-5, Timney trigger, and will probably stick with remington action because I like the angle they eject the case. Will thread the barrel for a 30-p1 and am finalizing the contour...

    Anybody have experience withBrown Precision?

Yes, that's exactly who it is. I've enjoyed working with them so far and they seem to be incredibly knowledgeable. I'm quite comfortable, just want to make sure that I'm not missing anything before I spend that kind of money. A friend of mine has one of their High Country Hunters and it's...

    Anybody have experience withBrown Precision?

Just about to sign off and wanted to see if anybody here has had a bad experience with Brown Precision out of California is. All of my dealings have been great, but I just want to perform as much diligence as I can. I'm paying surgeon money for the rifle and want to be sure. Thanks

    First Custom Build

Updated. Having Mark Brown at Brown precision build my .260. I'm really pleased. Mark was fantastic to work with and helped me on the design. Went with a Stiller Predator on a Brown Precision Hunter Bench stock. Shilen Select Match Grad 22" 7 contour 8" twist. Still trying to decide on...

Thanks for the input. I forgot about Bighorn and shouldn't have.

    First Custom Build

I don't see the actions mentioned as much as Surgeon or Defiance in the tactical rifle discussions, but a lot of my long range hunting friends love them. I wondered if durability was a reason. Thanks for the feedback.

    First Custom Build

I am new to precision shooting, but am already hooked. I've started reloading and that has been a lot of fun. Up to this point, I've shot very accurate hunting rifles and I finally took the plunge to have a rifle built specifically for tactical shooting competitions. I decided on a .260...

I've been shooting pistols for a while, but am relatively new to rifles and precision shooting. I've enjoyed reading the board.

SAAM training with Tim Fallon at ftwoutfitters?

I am signed up for the June 14-19 class. Have heard very good things about the class from the Hill Country Rifles people. I've emailed and spoken to Tim several times. Very helpful and nice guy. I can give an update later in June.

F T/R Competition Question from a complete novice

That makes sense. Yes, it's a multi-purpose rifle. The accuracy guarantee is 100 yards. No question that I'm building a deer rifle

F T/R Competition Question from a complete novice

I've found the same thing for marital bliss. That and profuse apologies!! My reloading press should be here in a couple of weeks. To be honest with you, the ballistics and the physics of long range shooting is what drew me to it. I'm looking forward to reloading.
