    My recommendation is read a reloading book. If possible have someone you know show you. You do not need a crimping die for a bolt action. Buy a few reloading manuals. And pay attention.

    ^^^ this. I have never had two guns that shot the exact same. You will most definitely have to rezero each time no matter what. The only time I would worry about repeatability is changing two optics on the same rifle.

    Tell me about it. Almost thirty years ago we could get what ever we wanted and the quantity was there. Must have been a whole lot less reloaders. And the worst part of it was the factory ammo sucked compared to today.

    I would try the smb die. Like I said I had the same problem in my rifle with brass shot from another rifle. I personally wouldn’t buy a real pricey die. I went RCBS which includes a seater die. That seater I just use for loading hunting loads. It fixed my brass so I could use it. Before buying...

    I have the viper. And I have had no damage to my cerakoted barrels with out using rosin. For what it’s worth I also tighten it down pretty dang tight.

    You might have to. I know I bought some once fired Hornady brass for my tight chambered 300 win, and none of it would load. I had to order a smb die to size it for the first loading in my rifle. After that so far I have been able to just use my Redding neck sizer.

    It will get you shooting. And to be honest with you, you are far better off learning on the 308 than a 300win. It’s cheaper to shoot and you are less likely to develop bad tendencies.

    Like 308pirate says. Sight it in have fun and enjoy. Every thing else will come into place.
