    6.5 PRC in Remington 700 Long Action?

    if you have a .270 (.30-06) boltface consider a 6.5-284. It will do everything a 6.5 PRC will do without the headaches. Plus Lapua brass is available. If you are set on the 6.5 PRC sell your action and buy another. Good ;uck Jerry

    Why can't you have a gunsmith throat the .223 chamber with the longer lead of a 5.56 mm? I do not recommend trying to shoot 5.56 mm in .223 boltgun. Blew primers when I tried it years ago. Especially, 5.56 loaded to NATO pressures. Good Luck Jerry

    .30-06 outdated - Not. Baboon, Gembok, Impala, Springbok, Kudu, Blue Wildebeest, Zebra, and 3 warthogs were each killed with 1 shot each 180 grain .30-06. Killed a few whitetail but some with 2 shots. .30-06 has been getting the job done for over 100 years. Good Luck Jerry

    .308- 1:10 twist rate- are 150gr bullets hopeless?

    I did have a 1-10 twist Kreiger that shot 180 & 190 gr SMK much tighter than 150 gr SMK. Yes most will shoot 150 gr very well. Some will not. Also there are very different bullet lengths between a 150 gr round nose and something like a 150 SMK or a 155 Scenar. Good Luck Jerry
