    Rifle Scopes Vortex LHT 4.5-22x50

For Western hunting: Kifaru Gun Bearer. Is only about 4oz, much lighter than most all slings as many are over a pound. It's also faster than most slings once practiced. KUIU also makes a copy, but it completely sucks and they went too light and flimsy on the butt stock holder. It is hard to...

    Rifle Scopes Vortex LHT 4.5-22x50

FWIW, I rolled turrets many times; it sucks. Usually, it is the windage turret against the side of your pack or back etc as you hump up and overstuff the slung rifle moves up or down. The more you crawl through stuff and bend up and down, climbing steep hills ( or anything that more creates...

    Tripod Table

Here is a pretty good write-up by @hic28 in our Field Match & Hunting Tips and Tricks segment. https://www.snipershide.com/shooting/threads/tips-tricks-from-tripods-to-stage-examples-for-ukd-team-field-match-or-hunting.6980614/page-2#post-8523163 If you are interested there are a lot more...

    Garmin AB watch

Yes, that makes WAY more sense, in that way it is a backup as mentioned. But, I still find other devices a bit faster to use pre-stage, especially if you get the COF pre-match. As someone who creates UKD Field style matches, I would highly encourage people to (if you're not) use hard dope too...

    Garmin AB watch

your shooting on the clock refereeing the watch? Damn you have good eyes and a good brain to manage it; especially when a match like ours might have 7 targets

    Garmin AB watch

Personally, I use the watch as a backup or second source when something looks off. With so much going on at a stage, I want a clear head and big numbers. The watch is nice, just not great as the main device for a PRS style match. Just my 2 cents

    Hunting slings?

Just a note:: safari slings while great for the shooter makes me cringe as someone hiking around them. They flag people constantly, just like suite case carry. Imaging single track or a game trail; if your in front you get flagged, if the turn to blade through a trail you get flagged if your in...

    Hunting slings?

Sorry out in Wyoming now. I use several packs, but yes in the images it’s on the Kuiu. I like the pack for the light weight to carry comfort on my back. These are not as bullet proof as some packs and not a fragile as others. I just loop the bottom around the waist/hip belt so most of the weight...

    1st Piece of the Puzzle

For what it’s worth I use the Berger 168VLD but the thinner jackets “hunting” version. I also shoot the mandated solids in California on pigs. Barnes -to hammers have poor BCs and honestly do not work as well for me and my friends as traditional jacket bullets, hunting or target.

Rifle Scopes **Updated** Lightweight hunting scope

All makes sense. Just a question, you’re talking LPVO primarily correct? Is your idea of These types of scopes primary of CQB, and near range hunting - with the exception of huge 2 legged mammals? I would agree there is value in LPVO being SFP or hybrid for those uses. The OP discussed his use...

Rifle Scopes **Updated** Lightweight hunting scope

You may not have used the correct type of reticles or using them not as intended in your FFP MPVOs if you're finding them useless at either end. We hear this argument all the time to justify less expensive SFP offerings. For clarity on my end, I consider 1-10s today LPVO; 3-18 MPVOs, so please...

    Hunting & Fishing Hunting pants

KUIU and First Light make them in both regular and boot-length. nothing better than using boot-length long johns with the side zips. Leave your boots laced up, drop your outer later and poof, just like a fat assed middle-aged stripper, you're out of them! Boot-length side zip thermals, one of...

Rifle Scopes **Updated** Lightweight hunting scope

with all there are trad-offs. Since you mention the things that cause lens flair and obviously will be zoomed out to deal with some of this if not for FOV, have you ever thought about the benefits of FFP? Yes, it will crank your weight up 7-10oz; but like many things, it's might be one of the...

    Bino Advice $1000ish budget

I have 2 sets of Maven B2 11x45s. I sold one set of my Swaros after buying the first set of Mavens. Here is something from someone who wears glasses. -- It matters how "easy" the binos or how "forgiving" the eye box is especially if you are an eyeglass wearer. Sans the Geovids, the integrated...

    Pulse in scope

Sometimes a simple shorting mat folded up under your butt will help when the chairs to bench ratio is too great.

    Pulse in scope

I don't see the check comb being too low or too high. Can't without looking at the shooter for the most part. The two main giveaways that a shooter is extremely bladed, is a very low distance between the scope centerline and the comb OR a scope mount way too far towards the rear. Tall benches...

Rifle Scopes Long Range Hunting Scope, what would you order?

As a hunter, who shoots long-range in our hunt unit because of the way the topography often forces us; as well as a competitor who has owned much of the top tear glass including a ZCO. The ZCO and some of the other top their glass; are not on either my long-range hunting magnums or other hunting...

    Hunting slings?

Jon- for your ultralight build, think about the simplest lightest adjustable sling. Why spend 8K getting your SUAM uber light, only to put a 1-1/2 pound sling on it? For those wondering, @Jabot also shoots PRS and has or access to all the normal high-end slings, rifles only, tab gear...
