    Anschutz 64 MPR ejection issue

I thought I would try different ammo before doing any modifying on the factory parts. I shot some Eley target, and Eley Club with no extraction issues. It shot this ammo very well, but it does better with Wolf extra. I guess I will shoot the Eley ammo until I have time to fix the factory...

    Remington 5R .223

If you're going to have one built, then go for the gusto. Mine is made to shoot 80 grain SMK's, and it will surprise most people. 1 in 7, or 1 in 8 will work just fine, and will go out past 600 yards without issues. BTW, don't write off the 6.5s. There's good reason a lot of people are going to...

    Cerakote in bolt raceway

You can take a woood dowel wrapped in 500 grit paper, and slide it back and forth in the race way. Just do enough to remove and smooth out the excessive build up. Clean it out really well, and add a very light coating of bolt Lube such as the one made by Bore Tech.

Gunsmithing Cerakote on a Deviant action- question

I also agree that the tape is a great idea on these tight tolerance actions. You would end up lapping it off anyways, so why not avoid it by taping from the get go.

What distances are you shooting your 260's

Shot mine yesterday out to 1K making a few 8 inch head shots. From the beginning I've been using 41 grains of N550, but I'm now at the end of my last container of N550, so I'll be switching to H4350 like everyone else. My Creedmoor ran neck and neck with my 260 up to 600 yards. After that I...

Gunsmithing FFL/Liability insurance. how much should one have??

You want to know why you're not getting any answers?? I would bet that's because most guys don't buy it. It's probably expensive, and hard to find. I'm sure most insurance company's don't want to have anything to do with firearms. If I wanted to find the price and availability of such insurance...

Gunsmithing FFL/Liability insurance. how much should one have??

So I can't borrow my buddy's gun and keep it overnight. Where is that written? I'm being a smart ass, and do perfectly understand the FFL rules. If you're not doing it as a KNOWN source of income, there's no need for an FFL. It's one of the questions on your FFL application. Therefore, no...

Gunsmithing FFL/Liability insurance. how much should one have??

Much easier and more profitable to sell hot dogs out of a road side hot dog stand. Less scary too.

Curious to hear what you would sell

Gunsmithing R700: What's the best way to align a scope base to the bore?

I'm just curious, how far off do you think the factory drilled holes are? How are you going to line them up with your now trued bore without oblonging the factory drilled holes? I've never had to do that, so that's why I ask. The scope has always had pleanty of side adjustment to correct for any...

    Custom chamber/reamer

I too own more PTG reamers than JGS, and they have all been just fine. So please don't get the wrong idea that I have had any bad experience at PTG. I have a lot of respect for Dave Kiff who has spent time on the phone with me trying to help me out when I've had questions about tooling, and or...

To the tick turds that keep hoarding the .22 lr stores, I will be laughing hard

Nothing last forever, nothing. You can get .22 ammo if you really want it. Eventually, everyone will have their fill, and the manufacturers will have surplus, and then prices will drop. Until then, we who really want it, will find a way to find and buy it. I started shooting .22 eleven months...

    Custom chamber/reamer

My first choice would not be Clymer. JGS would be my first choice with PTG as a second choice. I just happen to like Cary a little better in the service I've gotten from him from the beginning. Nothing wrong with PTG. Clymer did me a little wrong in the beginning, so I prefer not to go there.

Is it just me or did the cz 455 trigger guard thread go poof?

I believe so. Anything that looks like business requires it. Like it was already said, it's the best place for the money to advertise if you're in this business. What gets me is how I see guys post on here clearly that they have shops doing work for their customers, and no one says anything to...

Gunsmithing How short can you go in 30-06?

Ok bro, what are you going to use it for? Target shooting to under 500 yards, or target and hunting? Target only, then save your self in a few ways. Have a 223 built to shoot 80 grain bullets. Hunting also, then a 308 will more than do the job at 500 yards. The more specific you are as to it's...

    Cz 455 accuracy help!

This would be my first suggestion also. Mine is all stock with the exception of a Yo Dave trigger kit. It will shoot a ragged hole at 50 yards with Wolf Match Extra. Not Match Target. It also shoots SK Standard very well.
