Rifle Scopes Sig Sauer Tango 6 5-30x56 34mm MRAD Milling 0.1 MRAD Black Scope

I had a chance to shoot extensively with my buddy's. I was impressed with the quality for the price; I would happily put one on my own rifle. I don't know who has been responsible or Sig's strategy over the past 4-5 years, but they are certainly taking the company in the right direction. I am...

Are you certain that you accurately inputted all of the other variables, environmental and otherwise, which go into the calculation?

    Rifle Scopes Scope choice?

How many MOA to get to 2000 yards with a 6.5 Creedmoor? Personally I'd be looking to put the cash into a bigger rifle rather than the scope, if I had regular access to such a range. A puff of a breeze and you will be totally frustrated.

Will this make a good long range gun?

That's really use dependent. A .338 is going to cut the wind better than a 7 or 30, the only disadvantages are cost, recoil, and situations requiring high round count. Again, depending on use, that may be significant or not significant. A 7mm is great for shooting a 20 round F-class string at...

    DuraCoat No longer taking Orders

Perhaps I am uneducated, but does Cerakote not require additional curing ability beyond hanging it in the garage?

    DuraCoat No longer taking Orders

Well hell, that's not good....I can't say I'm a high volume consumer but I've valued their products as a DIYer...

    Do you shoot your .223?

No. I have a Rock River competition AR and a precision AR in 223, and I do shoot those a fair amount and the precision one is a go-to in dog towns. In bolt action, I love the case as I have access to an almost limitless supply for free. However I have a 20 Practical as that maximizes the...

Let’s talk magnums for my build.

If you already have the barreled action and dies, I'd probably shoot the barrel out before doing anything else. I've been on the lines and in the pits at competitions out to 2000 yards. I'd say out to ~1200 yards there was not a huge difference 338-30-7, though generally the bigger rounds were...

Sidearms & Scatterguns 340PD Who's got one, what to expect?

You can expect it to hurt with full power loads. I have the 329PD, and with full power loads, one cylinder is about all one wants to shoot. It's like having someone swing an aluminum bat into your hand. It's just incredibly sharp. Never shot that one, but those who have and have shot my 329...

    Rock River NM trigger?

The Geissele is a step up, but I have 2 with RRA NM and like them just fine. Great unless a dedicated small group rifle.

    Help with Wife's Match Rifle?

A Savage F/TR would not kick at all and would be flexible for several different shooting roles...as long as carrying it a ways is not in the plans.

    Ar 15 Barrel

If this is an accuracy build I'd recommend something like a Krieger (cut rifled). The price difference is not much. If all you care about is MOA-ish I'm sure the FN will be fine.

    Indiana Long Range Shooting Ranges

FWIW last year I just showed up and shot the 600 and 1000 yard matches with my hunting rifle. Learned a lot and it was a pleasant enough group that I built a competition rig over the winter. Wrung out my 338 Edge elk rifle in the 1000-2000 yard match...real shame we don't have that one anymore.

    Range finders ?

Companies can always change, but I've owned two "high end" bushnell rangefinders and both have been monumental disappointments. I'm a Sig fan now.

    Indiana Long Range Shooting Ranges

Young's and one other gun club in Fort Wayne, which require memberships, or join the matches at Atterbury. That's about it. I'm not aware of any other public ranges over 100 yards, which makes me happy with 300 out my back door.

    Inner workings of a semi-auto.

It sounds like you need to add a muzzle brake or shoot .223 more than worry about monkeying with the "dwell time" of a .308...Sounds like you are just dealing with recoil and that just comes with shooting a 308.

    Precision AR Barrel

Mine is a Krieger and was worth the wait. Perhaps if they have a backlog and wait time there is a reason?

    Inner workings of a semi-auto.

Sounds like you are mixing two different things. I'm speaking to isolating the inherent accuracy of the gun. You are adding in how the recoil pulse affects the shooting position and rebuilding that to make a quick follow-up shot. These are two different scenarios. I agree that my precision...

    Inner workings of a semi-auto.

I am surprised that nobody has mentioned that your concern is moot. Unless you are running an over-gassed gun, the bullet will be out of the muzzle before the bolt unlocks. All of that movement you are concerned about happens after the bullet has already left the barrel.

    What An Ass Whoopin

Go buy a low cost Vanguard index fund and ride it over years. If you think you can beat the market buying individual stocks and timing the market, it is equally efficient to go to Vegas and play the games over the same period of time thinking you can beat the house.
