I own a surefire 762SS and I love it. One of my rifles displays a POI shift and the other does not, I think it is rifle/barrel dependent. The shift I do get on the one is extremely repeatable. On the bolt gun I regularly shoot subsonic and the ones I load are repeatable and consistent out to...
Shutting the gas off doesnt fix the problem. You are having issues with FTE/FTF which deals with the gas. I dont think you are sticking brass, I think the BCG is moving way to fast. Try some of those 178's over 42.5 Varget at 2.80 OAL and see what happens. That should be close to the pressures...
An adjustable gas system will help a bit. I only load my AR's (223 and 308) to mag length. I may be able to squeeze a little bit more out of them by messing with length and single feed, but then why would I want an AR? Finding the right powder and bullet combo is what your after. Good luck
I used CFE 223 on a rifle that seemed to like slow loads and averaged 200 FPS over my other loads with similar accuracy. Just another good powder to note.
I picked this up on the way back from PA at green top. I dont frequent the armory too often as I am not too keen on the employees.... I am sure I could sell it and get 1 LB, but if it doesnt work out it will at least be good for surplus/plinking rounds.
I pulled down my MK316 Mod 0 check the charge. I assure you that the load in there is 42.5 Gn of whatever powder is in there, I have heard it was 4064.
Just curious if anyone has any load data or actual chrono results with this powder and 175 SMK or 168 SMK. I have been hearing more and more about this powder ever sense someone gave me a box of MK 316 MOD 0 Ammo and told me it was replacing MK 118 LR. Anyone know if this is true? I seemingly...
I have a rem700 varmint that with the can attached will shift directly low 6 Moa. The groups remain the same. I came to the conclusion it happens simply because the extra weight on the end of the barrel. I. Is consistent and repeatable so I just take that into account when shooting suppressed.
Nick, That is exactly what I should have done! As stupid as it sounds I didnt even think about that. I think it is definitely going to take time to learn this skill and I will just have to learn wind estimations first in order to do calculations. Now I will be always quizzing myself. LOL
This past weekend I shot my first 1000 YD match with my 18” Gap 10 and I was very impressed with the rifle and how the loads performed. Ended up with a 168 6X out of a possible 200 20x. My issue throught the match was gauging the wind. All of my shots were on a horizontal plane, leading me to...

Now if I could land them EVERY time. LOL. In my opinion many run too much powder in their gas guns. I think you can get the same achieved with less powder.
