Got this in the mail a couple day ago but hadn’t got a chance to really look it over until today. Initial impressions; buy it. If you are on the fence about quality or workmanship don’t be.
The machining is excellent. No chatter marks inside or out. Their markings are tasteful and in no way...
I’ll be the Guinea pig here. Thoroughbred has them back in stock. I said fuck it and ordered a K1 in .308. Should have everything I need to put it together. I’ll likely have it dimpled by Templar if it shoots well.
Craddock will also make you one on a Bartlien blank. They offer the MK11, the M110, and one they call the CC. The later being a SR25 EC contour. They will also do it on a 400modbb blank. I emailed back and forth with a few questions about the Craddock CC barrel and it sounds like a direct...
I should have elaborated a bit more on that last point. Take the proper sized driver and give it a good turn like 40-50 in lbs. I’ve seen broken screws where the head is held in by the staking and appear good with a visual inspection.
Don’t know if it’s been mentioned yet, but did you check your gas key screws/bolts? They may not appear to have backed out but it doesn’t take much to let a lot of gas escape if they aren’t actually tight.
When you think about it’s only 51 mph 😆
But on a serious note it could just the relative humidity of the powder.
When I have multiple 1lb bottles of the same lot I usually combine them into one container to avoid unwanted issues. 75 fps is still quite a lot for just changing bottles.
I’d run...
Something is off then. In my experience the newer Alliant powders are solid in the temp sensitivity department.
Did you use a different chronograph to measure? Not that it should make a difference if both are functioning correctly. Definitely not a 75fps difference.
What was different about the ammo you shot today vs your previous ammo and data collection? Was it virgin brass from the first data point, different powder lot, different lot of bullets, similar bore conditions? A slip up on your reloading process?
I vote it’s over gassed already unless it has a very small port like .062 or something.
If I read correctly this is a mid length gas 18 inch barrel. I would go h1 as a minimum for a buffer.
Does this happen with quality factory ammo as well?
Like many have already mentioned, 24 grains of TAC is a great load with a 77smk. In your 14.5 you will likely see 2630 to 2650.
I had the same conundrum as you recently with a 14.7 fn mid gas. I put it together as a sort of recce rifle but still wanted some speed with the heavier bullets. TAC...
It’s working correctly on my other phone but didn’t import any of my previous profiles. It recognises me as a registered user but there is nothing there. That’s not a huge deal if I have to go back and recreate my profiles, I only had 15 or so.
Another example, only need to come up .18 at 800 from a 100 yard zero. I’m going to try and deleting the app and reinstalling it again. I’m also going to try it on my work phone to see if I can get it to cooperate.
The first pic shows the solution it gives and the second is the inputs. It’s telling I need to come down from a 50 yard zero. I mean it should be nearly zero at 220. All of my profiles are like this. They were all brought over when I updated and I’ve gone through and checked everything.
