Hunting & Fishing New hunting dog— what’s your kibble of choice?

We run 4health chicken and rice on our working dogs. It has good ingredients, and they eat it without any issues. Coats are great and the dogs do well on it. They also absorb a lot of it, unlike other cheap foods where they crap everywhere and frequently. The dogs leave fewer stools. Look at...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Need a new CCW...

Sig p238. It shoots great, easy to conceal. I'll probably still carry it. Seems like the new guns have a bit higher mag capacities. And of course going from 380 to 9mm would be nice. Hell the ammo is cheaper, which doesnt make a lick of sense. Xdeano

    .375 Cheytac press

I use an rcbs rock chucker supreme. It has a bushing threaded into the top that allows you to use standard dies, unthread the bushing and it opens it up for the larger dies. I have to complaints. Xdeano

Range Report Looking for a different 308 load

I started off back in the day with the 168 fed gmm, then went to the 175 fed gmm. Then started reloading my own. Then I found the 155grn lapua. It has the same bc as the 175smk. So a win in the bc and velocity. Now there are so many more bullet offering than there was 15-20 years ago. I sold...

Hunting & Fishing Y’all talk me out of a 22-250

Surprisingly enough they don't open up very well at that range. They tend to just pencil through. But it's a big enough hole to get the job done. The 22-250 is an excellent round for Coyotes, I use to use a 50grn nosler BT, they perform better than the vmax because of the thicker jacket and...

Hunting & Fishing Elk Hunting Packs

Look at kifaru. They make excellent bags. They have a variety of sizes and shapes and are very modular. Go minimal or go giant. Get what you need. Theyre a bag that will last a lifetime. Xdeano

    1,300 with .308

If you want to stretch the 308, pick up some 155grn lapua scenars, they have the same bc as a 175 smk but can be pushed to around 2900 out of a 24-26" tube. Xdeano

Hunting & Fishing Y’all talk me out of a 22-250

Ive burned up several 22-250 barrels. You have lots of choices now. Keep the action and replace the tube with the correct twist and the contour you desire. Upgrade the trigger and stock. Round, the 22-250 is hard to beat. You might look at a 22-243. 22 creedmoor, 22-6mm is popular up here...

    Shooting over water

Could it be a temperature gradient over the water. Cool moist dense air over the water. Ive seen it shooting across water myself. Pressure might be a part of the equation also. Xdeano

Hunting & Fishing LOOK AT MY BEAVERS.

Ive trapped several beaver that have had 1 front paw missing. I typically get called in behind inexperienced trappers to get that last smart beaver out of a pond. Id rather trap a smart coyote than a smart beaver. Ive even caught beaver that didnt have any front feet. But they still move mud...

    .338 Norma improved worth it??

Rl33 has some temp sensitivity. You will find that h1000 and retumbo will get you very similar velocities, h1000 is very consistent. I use large quantities of h1000 in all my other guns from 22-243s on up. Its good stuff. Rl33 is good for velocity, and barrel wear. ? Xdeano

    .338 Norma improved worth it??

My standard 338NM with 275-277grn cutting edge bullets are right at 2850fps. There seems to be a node right there. I can go hotter but I'm after accuracy. This is a 26" benchmark barrel, custom contour. Im using RL33, Norma brass and fed 215m primers, 0.020" off lands. Xdeano
