Hunting & Fishing Where to MOVE

I grew up in Wyoming and Montana before I joined the military since then I have lived in 9 or 10 states. Everytime I go home on leave the locals are still anti-anyone that's not from there. Just as bad as it was in Maine or Texas. Best advice on moving to Wyoming and Montana is this: If...

    Manners T4 or T4A?

If you are trying to save a buck or two and you never plan on selling the rifle, then perminantly modify it. If you are thinking that some day you might move it, buy the 4-A. Personally for me I'd still buy the 4-A, I had originally bought the t-4 and wish I had the A. I was only using a...

Eberlestock or Tac Ops drag bag?

I have several drag bags, Condor, Blackhawk, and a couple of chinese ones. Personally for me the Eberlestock is a better system for carrying in the field. Saying that, you can't beat a dual gun drag thrown in the trunk or behind the seat for an easy way to be ready for anything.

M1A for Basic LR Rifle Course?

Your 3 choices, by my way of thinking as an F-Class shooter. Take your M14, figure out what is the highest BC bullet that will work in the magazines and hopefully it is the same one preferred by the rifle. We shoot 1000 yards with 155 Grain bullets in F-Standard, you can do it provided your...

    Gunsmithing Build #2

Looks nice, nothing like building guns. Those little Bell and Carlson mountain rifle stocks feel and look really classy. Especially on a Remington 700.

Rifle Scopes $3500 for a new scope, which one.

Thanks, I won't be back in America full time until this Fall, so I have to time to decide. I'll have a couple chances at screwing with my buddies ATACR before I go home, hopefully I can find someone that has a Mark 8 I can play with. The one advantage of the Beast over the ATACR it has the...

Gunsmithing Smith recommendation near Jacksonville Florida

Personally distance doesn't matter to me. If the guy is a reputable gunsmith, and can do the work I'd send it to anywhere in America. I wouldn't send gunsmith work out side the US, as we have excepting in rare occasions concerning a double rifle or drilling great guys that do great work. If I...

Rifle Scopes $3500 for a new scope, which one.

Turns out it was an ATACR, and I still haven't seen it. I asked him to bring it to our last 300 meter night shoot, but he didn't have any ammo loaded for that rifle. Wouldn't tell me what his cost was on it, I know it was a pro deal for setting up the National Range for Nightforce Australia...

Rifle Scopes $3500 for a new scope, which one.

You know I said that, but honestly I'd call them and plead your case, you never know what they are willing to do. Especially if you have time in the Cat Box, Somalia, Afghanistan, Bosnia or Kosovo.

Retired or Disabled and have an ID card, yes. Anything beyond that.....No.

Rifle Scopes $3500 for a new scope, which one.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the input. I'll call Nightforce, Scmidt Bender USA and Leupold's military sales departments when I get home and see what works out to be the most for the money. A friend of mine just got a ATACR so I am going to check that out in the next few days and see how it...

Yep! Hard to compare to Leupold's customer service as well.

Rifle Scopes $3500 for a new scope, which one.

Kind of like asking me if I want to screw the prom queen or her 30 pounds overweight sister. I already have a Trijicon 5-20, and couple Burris 30mm tacticals. I eventually want to only have one scope type and brand.

Valid point, a friend of mine has just received an early version of the Beast, and I am going to look at it on Wednesday night.

Rifle Scopes $3500 for a new scope, which one.

Hmm, That's funny, I know lots of Germans that use it all the time in hunting circles to explain the highest level of quality. They also say "bon appetite" when we sit down to eat. Frankfurt and west to the French border. I have never been to Munich.

Rifle Scopes $3500 for a new scope, which one.

This scope will play rifle tag between a 280 Ackley, 243, and 338 Lapua until I buy a 2nd one. So it needs to be tough, it will be in a Spurh type saddle mount. Here are my thoughts, I am looking between Zeiss, Hendsolt, Schmidt Bender, Leupold and Night Force and nothing else. 1. I want...

Are you using the same barrel? Send it to Chad Dixon in South Dakota.

Gunsmithing Smith recommendation near Jacksonville Florida

I have used GPI for cerakote and was really pleased. They gave a good military discount, and did a good job. What are you having done? I'd personally send it out if you are talking about a rebarrel.

Rifle Scopes The truth about Leupold thread

I think you nailed it exactly, nothing in Leupolds line up is reallying going to knock your socks off when compared with someone like Zeiss/Hendsolt or Schmidt Bender. But Leupolds customer service is bar-none, and I think they are far from the concept of a "guaranteed piece of shit in a box"...
