Sidearms & Scatterguns Para Ordinance Gunsmith?

I have a P14 frame kit. Having trouble finding a smith that works on them, I need the slide fitted and barrel at a minimum. Not trying to build a race gun, just wanted one I could make fit me... Any suggestions? Thanks Dave

    Model 70 into tac driver

Re: Model 70 into tac driver I'm in a similar situation, rather than build a Comp gun I'm going with the long range rock chuck killer. It'l be my 4th gun in the rack on varmint hunts. 6.5-06 keeping the original curley maple stock in the safe and getting a laminated stock for the varmint...

    Long range hunting calibers

Re: Long range hunting calibers Its pretty rifle dependent, my 300WSm kicks me worse than my brothers TRG-S in 300RUM, BUT neither gun is a pick for repeated shooting. Totally agree the 06 can pretty much do the job, with less kick... Dave

    Long range hunting calibers

Re: Long range hunting calibers The "advantage" the 300 RUM has is its NOT a belted case. Easier to load size and care for (IMHO) I'll pick a non belted cartridge over belted 100% of the time. I don't believe there is a clear winner in the 7mag vs 300 Winchester. But it can be debated...

Which is better REM 700 XCR TLR or Browning ABolt?

Re: Which is better REM 700 XCR TLR or Browning ABolt? As usual the answer is,,,,, "It depends" Browning has made some great firearms, they are not available through your typical store. I personally believe the old US and German ones are superior to the newer Japanese ones.. The edge the...

What next? Sell me on a 6.5 CM

Re: What next? Sell me on a 6.5 CM If I had to shoot 20 rounds out of my 300WSm (Kimber MT) or my dads 300WM Howa, I'd shoot the Howa. My WSM kicks hard. (180gr Accubonds.) The 300Wm with 180 silvertips (Old school not the new plastic ones) is way easier on your shoulder, but its like 4 lbs...

Gunsmithing Triggers: How light is 1.5oz?

Re: Triggers: How light is 1.5oz? My old silhouette pistol was at 16 oz. I had it a tic lighter but it didn't allow for jitters or the occasional twitch.. Of course this was in a contender that had a trigger job not a jewel or Timney. My Hunting rifle in 30-06 is right at 25 oz with a...

    375 CT data reports

Re: 375 CT data reports Just another angle... I've seen natives in Alaska shoot moose with a 22lr. The moose barely flinches. After 3 or 4 minutes they fall over dead. You just shoot them through the rear of the chest cavity/lungs and they drown. Of course moose would be closer to the...

    Gunsmithing Sandblasting Media

Re: Sandblasting Media I'd buy a selection and play, there are reasons to use different types. I like Soda for delicate stripping, or working on delicate parts. Also get at least 3 sizes of nozzles and add a good high volume air dryer cartridge. water can screw up the oxides... Dave
