    Still deciding on barrel contour.

Re: Still deciding on barrel contour. When actually shooting a deer or elk I cant say I even remember the recoil. Not even if a follow up shot is needed. Adrenalin seems to mask it pretty well. At the range its another story.. LOL Kimber Montana in 300wsm and a 180 Accubond backs up pretty...

Gunsmithing Is there danger in a faster twist?

Re: Is there danger in a faster twist? Could be like the harmonics in a drive shaft, I've seen salt flat cars that the drive line gets rowdy at about 100 then smooths right out as they keep accelerating... Its worse on De-acceleration, so it would make sense to me that the bullets might cycle...

Break Blew Off - where does the problem lie?

Re: Break Blew Off - where does the problem lie? A thread gauge will quickly show if the threads were cut wrong. I would see what the smith offers up, if all you did is cut just the threads off you'd only lose a inch. I'd push for a new barrel except he messed up a brake, would you want...

Point me in the right direction

Re: Point me in the right direction I'd pick up a decent little 22 as well. Its all about trigger time and you don't have to shoot buck a shot ammo to get better. Nothing like hunting Jack rabbits or sage rats to make you a better shooter. Lots of different placement angles speeds etc. Dave

Re: Why isn't glass objectively measured? My wife used to work at Leupold assembling rifle scopes, I asked a engineer once why they could not give a chart that showed the quality of the scopes. First thing is that with all the regulations in the world glass is now only made (Optical quality)...
