Cadex Defence, flaunt it if you've got it!

Market proliferation is a tricky thing. I've had Cadex rifles of multiple types since they were first released. Up here in Canada, I needed a new bolt due to some ejection issues (6.5x47 Lapua isn't long action friendly) and I had a new bolt from cadex that works in under two weeks. I ordered...

    Accuracy International AT-X

I think I'll Pre order one, I already have a tripod set up with arca head so that full length rail will be very nice. They are a great price, my only complaint would be the weight, I wish they made them lighter so a guy could just add weight if needed

    Accuracy International AT-X

What's everyone's thoughts on the AT-X? I can preorder one here in Canada to show up next year, but I'm on the fence because I have an AI AT already. What would the benefits be of the AT-X over an AT?

Cadex Defence, flaunt it if you've got it!

I found mine actually quite picky when I did my load development, The results were awful until I found the one then it was like no other rifle. I suspect thats the barrel though. I've had a few cadex with exactly the same issue.

Cadex Defence, flaunt it if you've got it!

I have one in 6.5x47 Lapua and 300 norma for two years. Every barrel change I have ever done has repeated the exact same zeros with no shift whatsoever. Its a bulky rig but the consistency and 1/4 MOA or better accuracy is amazing.

    AI AT 308 Load Development

I had a 10 kmh diagonal wind while doing these so not ideal but I couldn't wait to try. Looks like they all did really well with the 4166 42 gr showing the most promise. CFE 223 was meh so I didn't even label it. I'll try some 5 round groups next. Needless to say I'm pretty happy with the result...

    AI AT 308 Load Development

I have 175 gr projectiles aformentioned, federal match primers and as far as powder goes stuff that may work is: Varget CFE 223 H4350 I have a few other powders as well but not sure how well they'll do in 308 I'm thinking maybe grab a pound of IMR 4166 and IMR 4064 as they seem more available...

    AI AT 308 Load Development

I understand there is lots of load data but I was looking at experience from other AI owners. Reason being I know that a lot of rifles from manufacturers appreciate the same thing or have similar accuracy nodes. I was simply looking to short list my ladder testing, looking at what AIAW said I...

    AI AT 308 Load Development

Starting to do some load development for my AI AT and am wondering what everyone is doing for distance off the lands? As well as powder? I'm using 175 gr SMK and 175 gr Lapua Scenars. The last 308 I did some development for was a Remington 5R that liked to be 30 thou off the lands. any tips for AIs?

    AI AT308 bolt face pitting

This is my exact reasoning as well. I honestly think he never even thought to check. I believe him that he was just shooting GMM, the original owner was shooting 260 rem out of this and I think thats where the damage happened. I bet like myself, the 2nd owner never even thought to check the bolt...

    AI AT308 bolt face pitting

Got the quote today for the Part from UK AI, $750 Canadian pesos. I dunno if I'm going to bug the guy about it or just get it and live with it.

    AI AT308 bolt face pitting

Everything is mint, the exterior of the gun and the bolt look brand new. If it was hot rounds besides the bolt face nothing else shows it

    AI AT308 bolt face pitting

Story Update! I got a call back from Wolverine here in Canada regarded the replacement. I gave him my serial number and he did some digging... The original owner of this gun has two barrels. 1 in 308 (the one I have) and one in 260 Remington. He shot a total of about 700 rounds through it...

    AI AT308 bolt face pitting

Want to hear the ringer in all this? In Canada basically every "gun smith" I've talked to has said no dice to repair and the AI rep here in Canada has yet to respond to emails and its been three days.... Meanwhile both USA AI reps have emailed me and said talk to them... I can't even make this...

    AI AT308 bolt face pitting

Exactly my thoughts as well. I got a pretty good deal on it (paid 5K Canadian, new they are 7K here) I'm going to see what the replacement costs are going to be and go from there. If its obscene I'll probably make a stink, but if its not then I'll just fix it and move on with life. I hope they...

    AI AT308 bolt face pitting

Spoke with the original owner he thinks it was a bad heat treatment or something. Like I said he has rep (works for a big gun store here in Canada). I have no reason not to believe him. I've contacted the warranty rep for it. That said I just noticed this and before this it still shoots tight...

    AI AT308 bolt face pitting

The Previous owner has some rep and only shot federal GM Match out of it. I don't think he would lie about something like this. I contacted AI up here in Canada to see if they can get me a new bolt head. Other than that there is a gun smith here in town but I don't remember his name. Could...

    AI AT308 bolt face pitting

Just looked at all my spent brass, I had some reloads that I did up today and this is what the brass looks like, I shot a total of 12 rounds of this stuff I’m thinking loose primer pockets?
