    Does anyone out there have the Ruger American Predator part #16973 (22" barrel 6.5CM)? I have a buddy in another state that wants a muzzle brake made for his rifle, but doesn't have the capability to measure the muzzle diameter. Can anyone with one of these rifles give me the muzzle diameter...

    Here is one that I build a few years ago out of a scrap of cold rolled I had laying around. There is a set screw under the front arm to fine tune the angle.

    Gunsmithing McGowan barrels any good?

    I've had a number of McGowen barrels now and all of them have been less then 1/2 MOA. (3 in 300WM, 1 in 300WSM, 1 in 270Gibbs) I still have one left that's a blank trying to figure out what it's going to go on. Bottom line....great barrels!

    All my family is from RC and still have a few this side of the dirt there. Great place and would love to go and stay. Looked into Dakota Arms right after my last sand box tour, but didn't have the qualifications needed.....(that's about the time they took up the Remington custom shop.

    What’s your take on the 6.8 SPC chamber?

    Definitely go with the 6.8 SPC II. It fixed the issues with the original cartridge. With a 4x scope on my 16" AR I normally get under 3/4 MOA @ 100yds. Great coyote and deer round. I don't have a 6.5 Grendel, but I've heard military units had issues with bolt lugs breaking with the opened up...
