    Tikka T3 Picture Thread.

Yup, its the Lumley Ti bolt handle - but I didn't care for the carbon fiber knob which was a little large so I sent it off to Karl @ Kampfeld Customs and he put on one of his Campfire knobs - came out just right IMHO. And as always Karl did a great job.

Higher End .243 hunter recomendation needed

Since you said something pretty I guess I'm thinking a rifle with a wood stock?? If that's the case one to consider is a Kimber 84M Classic Select Grade .243. I've seen a few of those with same dang nice wood on them. Or if it was me I'd sure be looking for a nice Sako 85 Classic in .243...

    GAP V2 6 Creedmoor

Congrats to you - that looks to be a fine rig. Pretty sure you will get it to shoot & take out a coyote or 2:)

Gunsmithing Matching B&C web stock paint

You might want to get ahold of Eddie Fosnaugh, he can probably get you dialed in. He posts here when he isn't busy in the shop. Great guy to deal with, check Fosnaugh Customs for info or just call him.

I had Karl Feldkamp paint it olive with black webbing, pretty sure he uses Cerakote to paint stocks. Turned out nice IMHO, stock is now a little less slick as well.

And then you have the old classic camo - red plaid. Never goes out of style & works like a charm:) Even in snow. Or sleet Or foggy weather

Is a GAP worth more than a Beanland rifle?

Agree, hit the range today with my Beanland 7MM-08 - it shoots:)

    Kampfeld Bolt Knob

Like everyone else has already said, Karl's work is 1st class and so is he. Always quick to do the work and his prices are more than reasonable. He has built one full custom for me and done a bunch of other work from bolt knobs to Cerakote to fluting barrels/bolts. Always perfect. Nice guy...

Tikka T3 Lite in .223 with 1-8" twist. Still need to get a scope on it & go shoot. Had to get it duded up just a bit first though.

I missed my annual trip to Wyoming last year for antelope but I hope to make it this year. Sure enjoy the state of WY - great place & people!!

Gunsmithing Cerakote Applicator - Portland, Oregon area

I've not used them but have seen lots of good stuff posted on a local Oregon fishing & hunting related website. Anyway, you might want to contact Oregon Timberwolf LLC - they have a website and they are out in Oregon City. I've only seen pictures of some of the rifles they have coated and they...

    Suggestions on new hunting rifle

I'm a big fan of anything short action so I'll toss out the 7MM-08 as a good/great choice. Find a Remington SPS stainless in 7MM-08, shoot it as is or drop it in a McMillan Classic Edge and you have a really nice hunting rig. I did this last year with one of these, changed a few things and...

Remington 700 Mountain Rifle stock question

No problem, I'm a fan of the Ti take off stock. For the money they are a pretty decent stock - if they fit you that is and the biggest complaint for most is the grip. After having owned a bunch of them you will notice that the grip tends to be thicker on some than others. Not sure why. The...

Remington 700 Mountain Rifle stock question

The McMillan Mtn rifle stock would work - its a dup of the wood Remington Mtn rifle stock for reference. Or another option would be the Hunters Edge which IMHO is about perfect for a lightweight rifle with a skinny contour barrel.

    7mm-08

Never a bad thing when you are carrying a 7MM-08, in fact its a good idea to have several - just in case:) Here is my latest, started as a generic SPS stainless, sent to Karl @ Kampfeld Customs for some "improvements". Shoots most everything well, balances perfect, add the Montana sling and...

    7mm-08 for hunting

Huntr, Those are some excellent pictures - congrats to your son. The SPS stainless, when you find a good shooting one can be a nice rig as is or with a few mods added. Here is my SPS 7MM-08, it sits in a McMillan Classic Edge stock. I sent this one to Karl Feldkamp@ Kampfeld Customs and had...

    7mm-08 for hunting

Gotta like the 7MM-08's though for a fine hunting rifle. Here is the twin to Sendero's rig, this is an exact clone except for the stock color and its a ADL versus BDL. This one weighs 7 lbs 4 ozs with the Leupold scope which is a bit lighter than Scotts NF.

    7mm-08 for hunting

Not Scott but I've held that rifle before and seem to recall its right around 7.5lbs +/- an oz. Its a really nice rig!!
