    Re: Help with building a new AR-15 upper 18-20" RRA varmint upper is a good choice! if your your buling in upper, check out White Oaks Armament, id say anything between 18-20" with a 1:8 twist would get the job done! (1:8 will allow you to shoot 55gr-80gr)

    Re: Long Range Ar15? well if you have a .223 (ar-15) lower, one caliber comes to mind for longer ranges... that would be the 6.5 grendel! i am also in the boat similar to you, thinking of building a 600+ yard precision varmint/target rig!
