Atlas CAL/BT10/PSR- Who owns them? What do you prefer?

I'm a new fan of the CAL. I had PSR's on all my rifles until I tried the CAL. I now hate the panning feature. The CAL is hard to beat for the price range right now I think. I bought mine from Mile High. Becareful looking at places like Amazon and Ebay etc since there are a lot of fakes...

    AI Switch Barrel Repeatability

I'm too lazy to hold the chassis vertical. I just use the bipod to support the rifle,. I hand tighten the barrel and then use a 49in lbs torque limiter as specified in the manual for the clamping bolt.

    AI Switch Barrel Repeatability

Accuracy International users won't be surprised by this, but I know the question comes up from time to time about the repeatability and accuracy of the AI when you switch barrels so I thought I'd share this and maybe others will chime in too. I have a left-handed AI AT. I have a 6XC barrel...

    Bipods

Bipods definitely matter. I tried to the Elite Iron after listening to the podcast. Great for what it is, but too big for my style of shooting. I've switched to the Atlas CAL and I'm not looking back. Shot some of the best groups of my life with that Elite Iron though. Great info Frank!

    Episode 174

@Lowlight Your rant on LE equipment is spot on. I'm not on the sniper team so I don't have that battle, but it's a mindset across the board. In my experience the people making the purchasing decisions are generally guys who fancy themselves knowledgable, but haven't kept up on latest...

Rifle Scopes Zero Compromise Optic update

I'm pretty new with the optic, but what I've noticed with the ZC420 is similar to @Covertnoob5. Inside of 200-250 I adjust and beyond 800 I'll adjust. The 200-800 range seems to be very forgiving.

    Rifle Scopes NightForce SCOPE TALK!

I generally agree with everything @phlegm said about it. I've had the 1-8 ATACR on my duty carbine since summer of last year or so. Some people don't like FFP LPVO's. Some people think it's heavy. There are other good options in the LPVO world, but for me, the FFP reticle and daylight bright...

Rifle Scopes Zero Compromise Optic update

Nobody asked me, but if you don't like the Mil xt, I doubt you'd like the MPCT2 reticle either.

    Seekins SP10 barrel swap

Essential exactly what I want, except in a 20" cuz I don't want a musket with the can on it. ?

    Seekins SP10 barrel swap

I’m down with that. As such I called craddock and told him what I have and what I want. It’ll cost a few pennies compared to something off the shelf, but I like knowing my gear isn’t the problem when I miss.

    Seekins SP10 barrel swap

@bigjake83 I asked about the barrel extension. Seekins said it's based off the SR25 which rings a bell cuz I had to get the correct charging handle when I bought it. What does that tell me about extensions?

    Cold bore shift on AI/AT

I would not have thought this could possibly be a thing until last week when I was at the range. I wanted to switch from my 6.5 CM barrel to go back to a .308 barrel for some handload testing. I have an HRD gear tenon thread cap and had hand tightened it immediately after removing the barrel...

    Seekins SP10 barrel swap

What about Craddock Precision barrels? They carry a premium, but from what I can tell they're supposed to be very accurate?

    Seekins SP10 barrel swap

@bigjake83 whats your take on the JP heat dissipators? They look kinda funky and I’m not even sure if they’d fit under my handguard, but the concept is nice.

    Seekins SP10 barrel swap

Can’t argue with JP’s quality and performance. I’ll see what Seekins says about the backorder time and look at JP. Thank you

    Seekins SP10 barrel swap

Good to hear from you @MarinePMI. I definitely appreciate the insight from this thread. That’s interesting about the gas system. I’ll be using a select adjustable gas block and a suppressor so taming the gas shouldn’t be a big problem, but I definitely want it to cycle properly with all ammo...

    Seekins SP10 barrel swap

Agreed. Their steel barrels are intriguing and half the price.

    Seekins SP10 barrel swap

Seekins did tell me that my bolt would work perfectly in the 6.5 configuration and all I would need is one of their barrels. I assume this means their bolts are all HP bolts. Their barrels are backordered so I’m waiting to hear what their lead time is. My preference is the Seekins barrel cuz...

    Seekins SP10 barrel swap

@bigjake83 I’m waiting on an email back from Seekins next week to verify, but I did ask them already if I need a head spaced bolt with a new barrel. They told me my current bolt would be perfectly fine. Does that mean a proof or similar barrel would take the same bolt too? Assuming of course...

    Seekins SP10 barrel swap

I have a Seekins SP10 in .308(Not the "M" variant). It's a factory rifle, with less than 1000 rounds on the barrel, but I want to make it a 6.5 Creedmoor now. Some barrels I see on the market require a headspaced bolt to have any kind of accuracy guarantee. My question is this: is it really...
