Gunsmithing Adjusting Gas Key to lower receiver gap with a JP silent capture spring?

It will be fine. I have more than one lower that do not pass the "two quarter test" with a regular buffer set up. There is enough preload and I have yet to have a gas key touch the lower after thousands of rounds. None of the bumpers show signs of wear or deformation. You can buy replacement...

6ARC gas systems and A5 buffer systems and factory ammo...what's the baseline?

When I bought the A5 kit they only offered one weight at the time. I am not up to speed on all the other buffer weight versions they off and the naming conventions for them. The 3 kits I have were all purchased when they released them years ago. Also the A5 buffers have 4 weights inside I think...

6ARC gas systems and A5 buffer systems and factory ammo...what's the baseline?

Yes it is Rifle + 1 gas length. I think the standard A5 weight was 5.3 ounces, same as the rifle buffer.

6ARC gas systems and A5 buffer systems and factory ammo...what's the baseline?

I'm running a Proof carbon 20" with an A5 with the rifle weight buffer. I have zero issues running factory Hornady 108 ELDM ammo. Before I went to the A5 system I ran it with a regular AR rifle buffer and spring. Also zero issues.

FBI declares Sig 320/ ‘M17/ M18 unfit for duty

I believe the "modified" triggers were just the regular flat face triggers. The M18 comes with a curved trigger. It was stated earlier in the report that Sig installed some, and others were installed by the MSP armorer.

    My 427 blower motor project.

I really miss building race cars and race trucks...cool project and tech. I remember playing with some of the early stand alone PCM's that you had to program through a wired controller. Super slow to program and play with. I never did any big blown cars but I was friends with a great cylinder...

Needing to use charging handle to chamber round - small frame ar

Is the round crashing into the feed ramps on the barrel extension? Is your extension clocked in the upper receiver? Have you tried different magazines to eliminate the mag from being the culprit?

    So Cal Ice protest.

They don't even have an air force or any sort of fixed wing aircraft outside of maybe transport. They would get wrecked liked the last time they fought us. I think the cartels would put up a better fight and they would also get smoked.

    So Cal Ice protest.

More like 8800 LAPD officers in a county with 9.6 million people. and over 4000 sq miles to cover. If you add LASD to the mix they have around another 9000 officers. Not all of them will be deployed to handle the riots. Look at what happened in 1992. I think they actually had more officers then...

Replacing the barrel on my Medium weight 14.5 inch run and gun upper

If you need weight reduction there are only so many paths you can take. Adding light, laser, suppressor, etc adds up. I doubt it has anything to do with improved accuracy at the CQB distances they provide training for.

Replacing the barrel on my Medium weight 14.5 inch run and gun upper

So far I am happy with it. My buddy built a clone of my rifle using the same barrel and they both shoot identical. So sample of 2 seem to be good to go. I have no other experience with their barrels outside of the 6 ARC I have. I've been let down by other brands like Rainier. Criterion, Geissele...

Replacing the barrel on my Medium weight 14.5 inch run and gun upper

When I built my 6 ARC I used the VLTOR with a Proof carbon barrel The fit was snug but not thermo fit and not sloppy. The barrel slips in and out without too much effort. I didn't even glue it in just to see how it would shoot. I torqued it to 49 ft lbs with a BCM handguard. With factory Hornady...

    Sig P320 Paranoia Setting in.

The marines just asked for an investigation because they had one go off in the holster at a gate. That was M17/18 with a safety. I have read they have had models with the safety discharge. I think the issue is in the sear or striker safety. More than likely tolerance stacking issues or part...

Best AR-15/M16 Bolt Carrier Group For The Money…Who Ya Got??

The phosphate BCG pictured doesn't have OKS installed. Not that they do not come with them, but I find it odd they are using a regular image for a supposed upsepc BCG.

    Low Recoil AR Load

26 grains of Win 748 over a 55 grain FMJ is very soft shooting and still has enough gas to run the gun for a cheap easy metering load.

Best AR-15/M16 Bolt Carrier Group For The Money…Who Ya Got??

The Geiselle bolt is forged. I'm happy with the two I have so far. I also like my JP and the BCM's in the others.

Gunsmithing How to clean area right before chamber

The Dewey kit for the AR chamber just has an aluminum piece with a hole in it for the little swab to go into. I wonder why they made the other style when they already have something else that is easier to use? I always just used Q-tips and bent them as needed to get into the lug area until a...

    Surefire ICAR

I cut down a 5.45 polymer AK74 mag to make it a 20 round mag and just tried glue. It held for a little while, then came apart while I did a loaded storage test. Thankfully it was in a big storage container by itself when it happened. I then tried polymer "epoxy" from Permatex or one of those...
