    Surefire ICAR

The Surefire rifle is made in house outside of the other branded parts it has like the trigger, barrel, etc. I have friends there so I have been int he know about this for a while, same with the mags. I hinted about polymer 6 ARC mags a while back on here. I don't want to steal their thunder for...

The Pistols of Los Angeles' Top Cops

Springfield Long Beach Operator model pistols more than likely. My LAPD buddy has one for the unit he is in. It was the "required" pistol. They changed to Stacatto a while ago but after some issues they had, the team uses Glocks, the regular 1911 or whatever they are approved to carry.

    AK 74 mag loader?

The Podavach works well for all AK calibers. You can do AR mags on it also, but not as easily as the AK mags. The Maglula works also, but not perfect for the 74 mags. Its better for the 7.62 mags.

6mm ARC for 1k yards build

I shoot my 6 ARC to 1K quite a bit. Using a 20" Proof carbon barrel. Zero issue hearing it hit steel and I have a flasher anyways. A hair under 10 mils of drop with the Hornady 108 ELD factory load for my AO. I think it shoots very well at distance. For a light rifle that is semi auto, it does...

    Turbocharged Gasoline Engines

Modern turbos are better than the old ones with the bearings used and better cooling to them. That was the issue with the older stuff. And yes running a turbo timer or letting them idle for a while after driving them hard helps reduce issues with longevity. When I was a Toyota tech I can count...

    Shot Show 2025 Rumours

I expect there will be a ton of 2011 type pistols since they are the new cool thing to have...

    Trijicon SRO issue

The first one I received did not work out of the case. I had to return it and got this one as a replacement. My first SRO is about 3 years older and zero issues with thousands of rounds.

    Trijicon SRO issue

That was the first thing I checked. I forgot to mention that in my first post.

    Trijicon SRO issue

I have a relatively new SRO 5 MOA that has intermittent dot issues. Curious if anyone else has had a similar problem that might be a simple fix before sending it off to Trijicon. Mounted on a Sig P320 with a PMM dual port comp. I mounted it to the factory slide RMR mount. Screws are torqued...

    New 6mm Advanced Rifle Cartridge

I have LVR and CFE along with other powders. I have been following this thread for a while. I'm going to start load workup soon and just wanted to double check here to see if any other powders were doing better. It's interesting to see the differences in data for Sierra and Hornady. Thanks...

    some ban era goodness

My first AR was that exact 16" Bushmaster HBAR. I put 12,000 rounds through it, sold the upper and the lower still lives on paired with my MK12ish build

    New 6mm Advanced Rifle Cartridge

So what is the powder everyone seems to have settled on for the 108 grain loads? I am about ready to start loading for mine. I finally have depleted the factory ammo I bought for barrel break in and learning the platform a little more. I see AR comp for the 90ish grain loads. I am sitting on a...

5.56 AR reloading: Can Anyone ID what would cause these weird triangle shaped scrape marks/dents just below the shoulder?

Remember the bolt speed is much faster when it cycles than pulling it by hand. Try the deflector pad or soft sided velcro to see if it helps. If not you know its the extension and normal operation.

5.56 AR reloading: Can Anyone ID what would cause these weird triangle shaped scrape marks/dents just below the shoulder?

It's hitting the barrel extension on the way out. This thing called the ejector is pushing the brass towards the ejection port side as the extractor is holding onto the rim while the bolt moves backwards. Sometimes the extension can be sharp on the ends of the lugs where the bolt locks into...

We had a girl at my office that looked like that. We called her Halibut because she was flat on both sides.

Now they can repeal gun laws and enact National Constitutional Carry

They won't do shit. If they did pass that or the hearing act they would have one less thing to raise reelection money and get votes. They like to keep us angry so we vote their way.

AR Upper & Lower Fitment & Accuracy

My 18" AR in 5.56 has a small amount of slop between the upper and lower. It is not much but it is there and allows the upper to rock side to side. I found that shooting from the bench with normal bipod load and no loading anywhere else, the groups open up slightly. If I grip and give a little...

Post death of family member questions

My dads birthday is on the 29th and the SS payments came on the 30th every month. SO maybe that is not 100% accurate? I do not doubt you, but it is not correct for his payment schedule and birthdate.

Post death of family member questions

Yes it certainly sucks and being blindsided with a lot of this doesn't make it any easier. I'll share what I learn along the way to try and help anyone else that has similar questions or problems. I have not had proper time to mourn either. I had to get back to work because I have 17 people...
