    FFLs have to open the box so they can physically verify the serial number to log in their books. Sometimes the contact information for the transfer is inside the box. Not saying they didn’t lose the bolt.

    Check your headstamp on the brass. I have seen the wrong caliber in a new box of ammo before. How is the recoil? If it is very mild that could also be an indicator of undersized projectiles. You may have got 6mm creedmoor by mistake.

    ATF will always “prefer” a FFL not sell a firearm.....to anyone.

    I have a 16.5” barrel .30 GOV’T 06. You can subtract about 400 fps off what factory ammunition claims. Factory 180 grain loads average about 2300-2400 FPS.

    I cut a 30-06 to 16”. Everything is loud with it. The longer cans are the least loud. Get the 338 Ultra and put it on the longest barrel you can get. Still shorter than a Revolutionary musket.

    The best scams have some small element of truth to them. Ridiculous disproportionate response to a pathogen that only affects a small amount of the population. An “emergency” should never supersede the constitution.
