Took my son shooting for the first time yesterday.

I bet he had fun. I had my 5 yr old grandson out in the side yard with me this past weekend and let him take some shots from a .177 Crosman pellet rifle from 15 yards at a 16 x 16 inch metal plate since those little lead pellets just splat and drop down in front of it. He took 3 shots and then...

Spotting Scope For 200 Yard Paper Target Shooting

Thanks for all the good advise. Deep down I know a quality spotting scope would be the best option in the long run, so I expect I will take the plunge and get one. My range day is washed out today with rain, so I'll take a good look at Optics Planet and see what info I can gather. Thanks again.

Spotting Scope For 200 Yard Paper Target Shooting

Been thinking of doing more with my Aperture Sights this year and was wondering if anyone has any idea's on an inexpensive spotting scope that will pick up .22 cal hits in the black at 200 yards. I intend to be shooting from the Prone position. I saw the following spotting scope at Optics...

MAR 2014 SH Long Range Rimfire Competitions

Thanks Oneforall. I just got back from the range shooting the 25 yard 4 position and just getting ready to post the results. I to need to be more consistent with these matches, and truth be known, I haven't been. However, I'll be the first to admit (as I'm sure all of us would) our weather...

"Smallbore F-Class'" coming soon per NRA!!!

Was hoping to see the new NRA .22 Rimfire F Class match include 200 yards, but looks as if 50 & 100 is it. Maybe they'll add it in the future? 50 & 100 will be fun.

Changed Stock On My Savage MKII-FVT

Works fine, no problems. Last 5 shots I took yesterday on a quick trip to the Range, had about a 3/8 inch group from 25 yards - this was with the sling and me just leaning over the snow covered bench. TQ-3/1 Target (X X 10 10 9) - not to shabby.

Thank you. I actually got out to the snow covered Range this afternoon and ran 15 rounds of cheap Federal AutoMatch through it, just to see how it felt. I like it!

Here is a picture of the rifle with its Aperture Sights. Also I've added the bi-pod and sling, so this rifle is ready to go as soon as I get decent weather to get to the range.
