+1, but not for hunting for me. Competition shooting. If speed of deployment or movement is desired, Harris is the hands down winner. If absolute rock solid platform is needed go Atlas. Ty

Hey Mike, I can't speak for sure on the covert, but my SRS has the flush cups towards the front of the rail. I think they were underneath the movable rail sections. Maybe the covert's are underneath there as well. I did see that Russ got some flush cups from the rear of the skins and screwed...

You have already gotten good information. Here is my take. All 3 6.5's are ballistically superior to a 308. They drop subsonic around 1500 yards depending on environmental conditions. We have actually shot our 6.5's out to a mile (1760 yards), but of course there are way better tools for this...

It is more than nice. Flat out ridiculous! The Kahles is all that they say it is, a Schmidt killer. The scope its self has had lots of press and reviews already, so I plan on doing a write up of the reticle it's self as soon as possible. Unfortunately, ASAP may be about a month out. The thing...

My support arm is pointed towards the muzzle and I make a "C" with my thumb and fingers that both stabilize the rifle and move the fine adjustment wheel. As far as shooting groups goes, I absolutely use the monopod for shooting groups, but this is going to come to individual preference...

No, we mainly use 1-8" twist, but have used 1-8.5" twist. I am probably mistaken, but I think DTA offers the 16" 308 with an 8 twist because they assume many are going to suppress heavy subsonic projectiles. I was not aware of the other short barrels being a different twist. Ty

Not a 260, but rather 6.5 Creedmoor. However, I doubt the results would be much different. It seems to me that most people regard 223 and 308 as the few calibers that do well in short barrels. I disagree. I have ran several 26", a 22", and a 16". I ran all 3 lengths with the same load using a...

Welcome! I think that one of the most under rated features of the rifle is the monopod. My friends that I shoots comps with call it the cheater pod, LOL. I keep my support hand on the rear of the rifle and the monopod at all times. It never leaves when I am prone. I always have the fine...

Guys, I am very proud to announce that I am now a sponsored Desert Tactical Arms shooter. Nick and the crew have been very generous in assisting me in my shooting career. 2013 Las Vegas Invitational Match November 2 & 3

It was a pleasure to RO range 9. I enjoyed every shooter and hope that you all enjoyed it as much as we did putting it on. Ty P.S. After looking at the pics above, I have decided sun screen should be used! My nugget looks like a cross between a pumpkin and a tomato.

New GAP Extreme Hunter in 6.5 SAUM

I love the 139 Scenar. I have used about 6000 of them in comps and have another 2000 sitting in my load room. I wish that I could get some of the other higher BC or cheaper 140 class 6.5mm to shoot as accurate, but I can't and its my bullet. I have not shot an animal with one as I have not...

New GAP Extreme Hunter in 6.5 SAUM

I have seen quite a few animals hit with the 139 Scenar. All lasered through with minimal expansion. I would not recommend this bullet for hunting at all. The 140 A-max on the other hand does very well. Granted, all of these shots were with Creedmoor speeds, and not SAUM. Ty

    22 Creedmoor

I had thought that a 22 CM would be cool. We machined a 1-8" twist 22" 22-250 barrel for my DTA. I'm getting as fast as 3300 out of an 80 grain SMK at about 1/4 MOA at 100. It is crazy fun out to 1000 yards. However, I am not expecting much in the way of barrel life. Having said all of that, I...

26 mil x 3.477 MOA = 90.4 MOA Divided by 2 = 45.2 MOA Again, assuming your scope zero's out right in the middle, you should be able to run as much as a 40 MOA canted mount and still have 5 MOA of down travel. The difference between a 100 yard zero and 200 is only about 1.25 MOA. I always run...

21 mil x 3.477 MOA = 73.017 MOA Divided by 2 = 36.5 So, assuming that your scope zero's out at exactly the middle of its travel, you could run a 30 MOA base, and still have 6.5 MOA left of down travel. I'd be happy to be corrected. Ty
