OK, thanks just thought they might be worth picking up for a "throw it in the tool box" knife.

Sportsmans Guide has the P38 and P99 on sale. Made out of 440C stainless. Are these any good?

    Expedient Length of Pull Changes

Maybe a slip on butt pad or get some, say 1/4" neoprene sheet stock and cut some shims? That's what I did on a couple of my Mosin-Nagants.

Question on rifle builds for my sons.

Since I already had several .22's, I bought my sons each a Remington 870 Express in 20 gauge youth model. They have since replaced the stocks with full size and still use them for busting clays. I would also recommend something like the Smith&Wesson MP-15 .22 as a great training platform for an...

TO PAINT..... OR NOT TO PAINT..... That Is THE Question.. 10-31-2013

I vote for Krylon rattle can. Sure it's not the most durable, but what the hey, it's easy and cheap to touch up and re-coat. Just let it cure for at least 24-48 hours before fondling ( I mean handling)

    Accuracy vs Cost, Please Help

I know there is not a lot of love here for Thompson/Center rifles but I have a Venture .308 Weather Shield that sits in an XLR chassis and it is definitely sub-moa. Very nice adjustable trigger, 5R rifling too. Fitted out with a SWFA fixed 16x scope and Harris bipod, right around $1700. Or you...

Update Bought - TC Venture for a truck gun -

Don't know about the ICON bolt knob, I would just call T/C and ask. As far as the grease, I would soak it in a bath of mineral spirits then spray the crap out of it with brake cleaner.

Update Bought - TC Venture for a truck gun -

The action is very smooth and I don't think the knob is too short. Maybe in cold weather with heavy gloves it could be an issue. As you likely know, T/C is owned by Smith and Wesson so great warranty and customer service. I too looked at Howa, Rem, Savage before I settled on the T/C and am not...

Update Bought - TC Venture for a truck gun -

I have a T/C Venture weathershield mounted in an XLR chassis and it is definitely sub MOA. I think the 5r rifling is great.

Rifle Scopes SWFA 16X , and others? Opinions

I have the 16x on my T/C .308 in an XLR chassis and it is great. The adjustability of the chassis system helps a lot though with eye relief, etc.
