Barrel life is the only drawback of the 6. But just for poors like myself. I dont mind burning up a 6 Creedmoor criterion (great barrel) at half the cost of more premium barrels.
My sponsors havent bought me a barrel in years.
S&B creed is great practice ammo. It holds surprisingly good groups in a Tikka CTR as well..., for cheap fmj "tactiacl". But if its tactical, how can it be wrong? Am I right?
Fundamentals and acclimation will pay dividends by end of summer. Good luck.
You have plenty of scope for what you are doing. Learn your setup and its capabilities like the back of your hand, and you've already beat most rigs with "high-end" glass.
Dont mistake "want" with "need".
Honestly, if you are unsure, just avoid transacting. Good judgement trumps, but research the seller and communicate. An honest seller didnt just pop up yesterday, and they will openly communicate.
But mainly, refer to line 1 above.
You wont be disappointed. Good headspaced bolt to the barrel extension helps. Although, this is rarely an issue with quality parts.
What is the twist rate? I'd guess 1:7.5?
Quality ammo of 62gr or better will probably give you best groups.
CTR is the way to go if you plan to immediately drop in into an better stock. CTR is a light palma barrel ish contour. sell the stock or or paint it up for a back-up, second stock.
I've been using "entry-level" scopes for a couple of decades now, they keep getting better and better.
Arken EP-4 is one example. Crazy how much scope you get for the money.
