    The AR15 Picture Thread

The 11.3" Craddock Bartlein barrel in this "pistol"/PDW really needs a LPVO instead of an Aimpoint T-2. I really like the Cerakote - Accuracy Int'l Dark Earth.

    SBR/pistol barrel length???

I am the original 12.5" 5.56 fanboy, I do believe. John Noveske made a bunch of them for me starting almost 20 years ago. With John's match chamber, they were as fast or faster than a new LMT 14.5" CL barrel with a NATO chamber. I'm not qualified to speak for Craddock , but the message I got...

    SBR/pistol barrel length???

Here's more on the Craddock DMR-LE idea with Bartlein 11.3" and carbine +1 gas system. A good article on the subject written a few years ago by two men still in the arena: https://zerotheory.org/the-le-dmr-concept/

    SBR/pistol barrel length???

According to Craddock Precision, an 11.3" .223 Wylde with carbine +1" gas system gives velocities equal to or greater than a 12.5" .223 Wylde with mid-length gas system.

    308 AR10 Build Info/Picture Thread

Another very successful build based on the superb Seekins SP10 Builder's Kit, Proof 6.5CM 22" carbon fiber barrel, TriggerTech Diamond Trigger, and JP FMOS Bolt Carrier Group. Right at 9 LB empty. Who needs a 13 LB bolt gun???

Building lightweight AR10 - VSeven Harbinger vs 2A Xanthos Lite vs other?

If you're going to go with a short barrel, you'd be much better off with a .308 than a 6.5CM. The .308 will generate higher velocities with the same weight bullet in the same length short barrel. Granted, the BC of the .308 bullets will not be as high, but you're not planning to use this in a...

Shield Arms SA-15 Folding Lower Receiver

I had no idea there was a .308 version! If also seen a small block APF marked variant.

    Building out new dmr

Don't you mean the Geissele MK 18 rail - with ARCA built in? https://geissele.com/16-super-modular-rail-mk18-m-lokr-black.html It's 16.5", which precludes your using a 16" barrel.

Shield Arms SA-15 Folding Lower Receiver

Exactly! You must be referring to the main pivot pin bolt. It does seem to be very sensitive to tension. I'm hoping a dab of Blue Loctite on the threads will prevent it from loosening.

Shield Arms SA-15 Folding Lower Receiver

These folding lower receivers by Shield Arms have really caught my attention. The design and workmanship are superb, the weight is surprisingly low, and the price is, well, amazing - Especially when you consider a LAW folding adapter costs almost as much and weighs the same WITHOUT a lower receiver.

I've had excellent results with Geissele hand guards.

    Geissele Heavy Barrels. (Update 28OCT24)

Superior to the H-BAR contour, IMO. Looks like the original Noveske SS "artillery" profile from 20+ years ago.

    https://www.primaryarms.com/geissele-automatics-5-56-chf-mid-length-heavy-profile-ar-15-barrel-14-5in 1.2 LB??? That's an ounce lighter than Noveske's 14.5" super-lightweight "Skinny" profile...

    308 AR10 Build Info/Picture Thread

Barrel extension outside diameter is the other potential variable in the upper-to-barrel fit equation. I only build SP10's with Craddock or Proof barrels. Both are a snug fit in the Seekins upper, and thermal fitting is usually required. I have a good deal of exposure to the 22" SS barrel with...

    Criterion barrels - Accuracy

I firmly believe that the Criterion CORE barrel is the best bang for the buck you can find. Close to the very best regardless of price. Spend some time inside a dozen or so of them with a borescope and you'll appreciate why. They're gorgeous inside. With top shelf ammo, they will shoot top...
